Brief History

This model represents a Knarr which was found near the village of Skuldelev at Denmark and which is known as the Skuldelev 1. The original was built in Norway between 1030 and 1050 mainly from Oak and Pine. The length of the ship was about 54 feet (16.3 meters), with a displacement of about 24 tons.
