The tea is celebrated for its distinctive flavor profile — rich honey sweetness layered with bright, fruity notes reminiscent of tropical fruits. This unique taste comes from a remarkable natural process: while the leaf is still on the stem, it is delicately bitten by the tea jassid (a small leafhopper insect). The bite triggers an early oxidation in the leaf, enhancing its fragrance and giving Oriental Beauty its signature honeyed aroma and complex character.
