15g protein plus 5g collagen in a true snack format

Redcon1 MRE Protein Brookie is all about easy protein in a snack you actually want to eat—not some big meal replacement or full collagen dose. It's straightforward: 15g protein, including 5g collagen, in a soft-baked treat that fits real life when you can't mix a shake. This makes it a solid mid-level protein option to help you stick to a high-protein diet.

Protein is the star here. It gives you essential amino acids that kickstart muscle repair via the mTOR pathway, plus helps with recovery, making enzymes, and keeping your immune system strong. Studies show 20-30g is ideal for max muscle building per serving, especially with leucine-heavy stuff. At 15g, it's not hitting that peak alone, but it's awesome as a snack or quick bridge between meals. You'll notice better hunger control, easier tracking of macros, and steadier protein throughout your day.

Collagen is the bonus player. It's hydrolyzed, so it delivers glycine, proline, hydroxyproline, and peptides that help with connective tissue and structure. Research backs collagen for skin and joints, often at 10g daily for hydrolyzed types, or 40mg for undenatured type II. Here, 5g is a good amount, but not a full standalone dose. It adds those useful amino acids for tissue support.

Key Highlights

  • 15g total protein per brookie makes this more than just a tasty bite. It helps hit your daily protein, keeps you fuller than regular snacks, and bridges gaps between meals.
  • 5g collagen tweaks the amino acids nicely. It's loaded with glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline—key for connective tissues—so this isn't your average protein snack.
  • Protein fires up muscle repair through the mTOR pathway with essential amino acids. 15g is under the usual 20-30g for max gains alone, but it's perfect for snacks in a high-protein day.
  • Collagen has solid research for joints and skin, but dose matters. 5g is meaningful here, though below the 10g in many studies, so think of it as a nice boost, not a full plan.
  • This is made for sticking to your routine, which is huge in supplements. If you actually eat it, it works— and this soft-baked snack fixes those skipped protein moments.
  • It uses mixed proteins, not just whey. If you want variety, non-whey options, or a shake break, that's a real plus.
  • No fancy trademarks here. It's all about real protein and collagen for an honest, food-like snack.
  • It's not claiming to be a 30g beast, and that's refreshing. It's for convenient, fun protein when you need portable help more than a big shake.

Who Is This For?

  • Busy lifters with wild workdays missing meals. 15g protein gives real help when you can't eat full, and the treat format makes it easy versus lugging shakes.
  • Folks tired of whey shakes wanting new texture. This soft-baked brookie brings protein with 5g collagen for different aminos than dairy stuff.
  • Casual gym rats cutting cals needing snacks beyond sweets. Protein helps fullness and macros better than regular treats, fitting diets easier.
  • Athletes spreading protein without always big 25-30g shakes. 15g is spot-on as a mid-meal boost, not replacing full post-gym.
  • People into tissue support. 5g collagen isn't full dose, but adds glycine and proline that most snacks skip.
  • Shift workers, travelers, commuters needing better than gas station junk. For when prep fails and liquids aren't happening.

How to Use

Eat one when you need quick protein between meals, after gym, or traveling. Ideal when meals are out and shakes suck. 15g makes it a good bridge; pair with more protein for post-workout to hit 20-30g for better muscle repair. No cycling needed, no stim worries. Flexible timing, even evenings, since it's stim-free. Keep in cool, dry spot—gym bag, desk, car, wherever you slip up. Check full label for allergens and macros, especially if tracking fats, fiber, sugar alcohols, or sensitivities. For gut check, try one on a chill day to see how it sits.

What to Expect

Right away, it feels like real food: good texture, easy to grab, beats junk snacks. In 15-30 minutes, you feel more satisfied than after a sugary treat, thanks to protein curbing quick hunger. Over 1-3 hours, hunger stays even, and you know you didn't skip protein. In a week, it's about fewer misses, less random eats, better protein spread. Over 2-4 weeks, that adds up to solid diet wins. No loading like creatine—the gain is from using it when things get tough.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much protein is in Redcon1 MRE Protein Brookie?

Each Brookie provides 15g total protein based on the verified formula data. That makes it a meaningful protein snack, though it sits below the 20-30g range commonly used for a full standalone muscle protein synthesis feeding.

How much collagen does MRE Protein Brookie contain?

This product includes 5g collagen per serving. That is a meaningful amount for rounding out the amino acid profile, but it is below the 10g level commonly used in many hydrolyzed collagen studies for more direct skin and connective tissue outcomes.

Is the collagen in this product a complete protein source?

No. Collagen is useful for connective tissue-oriented amino acids like glycine and proline, but it is not considered a complete protein for maximizing muscle growth. That is why the total 15g protein should be viewed as a snack-level contribution rather than a full anabolic feeding.

Is Redcon1 MRE Protein Brookie good after a workout?

Yes, especially when you need convenience and cannot get to a full meal right away. However, because it provides 15g total protein and includes 5g collagen, many users will benefit from pairing it with additional complete protein if this is their main post-workout feeding.

Is this more like a protein bar or a meal replacement?

It is closer to a protein snack or baked protein bar than a true meal replacement. The formula is designed around convenience and protein support, not around delivering a full meal's worth of complete macros and micronutrients.

Can I use MRE Protein Brookie instead of a protein shake?

Sometimes, yes—but context matters. If you simply need a convenient protein-containing snack, it works well. If you are trying to hit a classic 25-30g post-workout target, a shake or an additional protein source will usually do that job more effectively.

Is this product stim-free?

Yes, this product functions as a stim-free protein snack. There is no workout-style stimulant profile indicated, so it can be used any time of day, including later in the evening.

What makes the collagen inclusion useful here?

Collagen provides amino acids that are heavily used in connective tissue structures and extracellular matrix support. In this formula, it gives the product a broader support profile than a generic dessert snack, even though it is not a substitute for a full-dose standalone collagen supplement.

Should I stack this with another protein source?

If this is replacing a snack, no extra protein is necessarily required. If you are relying on it as your main post-workout or meal-replacement protein source, stacking it with a complete protein powder or a high-protein meal is a smart move.

Do we have a full supplement facts panel for this product?

Not in the verified data provided here. We have confirmed 15g total protein and 5g collagen, but buyers who need exact macros, allergens, and the full ingredient panel should review the package label directly before purchase or use.

Printer Review from an Artist. Printer cost with a 3-year extended warranty - $199.00. Came with four full bottles of Ink. Each bottle was huge, and enough to completely fill up the tanks. In my old Epson printer that used Epson 127 Ink Cartridges a cartridge held 8ml of ink. The cost per cartridge for the XL Black was $31.00 on Amazon. In comparison, a bottle of ink for the tank printer costs $15.00 and holds 65ml. The Epson 127 Ink Cartridge is rated at 175 pages for the XL cartridge and the Tank Printer is rated at 4500 pages per bottle of ink. So, the difference in cost is striking. Unboxing the printer was simple enough. The printer weighs about half the weight of my old Epson printer. The new printer does not have printer drawers but, back feed only. This actually worked out well for me since I was constantly taking the paper in out and out of the drawers when changing paper size. Also, with this direct paper feed, I figure it will handle my heavier weight card stock paper that I use for my art and greeting cards. To my great surprise, the printer offers two-sided printing. This is really handy when printing my Zines. The printer setup was extremely easy as they recommend a phone app, that walks you through each step with pictures. And it communicated perfectly with the phone for the setup. It takes about 15 minutes to completely set up the printer. I have learned to not rush setup. Take your time, and follow the instructions step by step, Which include filling the tanks. Features, * The printer dues Dual-Sided Print - Great for zines. * It has fax capability, but we do not have a landline, so that will not be used. * It does copying, with a document feeder or you can lift the feeder and place the document on the glass. * I mostly use my Epson Precision San copier but it is nice if you wish to make a quick copy of a document. * Some reviews complained about the very small LED display but I find that by using the app or computer I can control all that I need to do. Print Alignment. I did this test but the printer heads did not require any alignment. During the setup process, the program installs the printer driver on my computer. However I found it to be the very basic driver, and I went to the Epson Website and downloaded and installed the latest driver which is very robust and has all the settings that I needed. The printer's footprint is smaller than my old printer. And my old printer had two paper drawers, though I never used the second drawer. Negatives. The output tray is flimsy and seems like it would easily break if bumped when I walked past the printer, so I have to be careful about this. So far I do not see a way of checking the ink levels from the computer. And they said in the instructions to be sure to check your ink levels. You can see on the front of the printer, where you can see the ink levels. When you purchase more ink, you can attach the bottle and it will not overfill the tanks, and you can then use more ink from the bottle later. So I will purchase a complete set of ink and keep it and as it runs low with about 1/4 left in the tank, I will just fill it up. So far I am very happy with the investment and now printing and ink cost is not a major factor. And I figure I will do a lot of printing with this printer when the holiday season rolls around for my greeting cards. As for print quality, I will need to report on this later, though there were no negative reviews of print quality. A test print on regular paper and the colors seemed to be spot on. One note, I still will continue to use my Canon Pro-300 Wide Printer for my Fine Art Prints, but the new Tank Printer will be my studio workhorse.

Frustrating to set up and unreliable
Style: ET-4800, Color: White, Set: FAX/ADF/Print/Copy/Scan
I bought the Epson EcoTank ET-4800 hoping for an easy, low-cost printing solution, but it has been nothing but trouble. The wireless setup is overly complicated, and the printer often loses connection to the network, forcing me to restart it or reinstall the software. Printing is slow, even for simple documents, and the paper feeder sometimes pulls multiple sheets at once. While the EcoTank system is supposed to save money on ink, the print quality is inconsistent — colors can be dull, and black text occasionally appears streaky. Scanning and copying are also sluggish. For the price, I expected something much more reliable.

ET-4800 EZ PZ set up and start up. Prints and scans just fine
Style: ET-4800, Color: White, Set: FAX/ADF/Print/Copy/Scan, Style: ET-4800, Color: White, Set: FAX/ADF/Print/Copy/Scan
An excellent home printer. And why did I purchase such? I had an Epson WF-520 for nearly ten years. But neglect and lack of use caused the printer head to get gunked up. I cleaned the print heads using a solution of 95% Etoh and glass cleaner (about fifty/fifty), a syringe with a plastic tube attached and LOTS of paper towel strips. It was moderately successful but I was never able to get it back to like new printing. I looked over several new printers and wanted to stay with Epson because of ease of use (copy, scanning, printing). Seems as tank printers are the way to go these days. So I ordered the ET-4800. Got here in only a couple of days. Setup was pretty easy, just follow the instructions either via the documentation included or online version. I have pinted and scanned a color test page. I used the built in SmartScan feature without having to think about it much. I am quite satisfied with the results. By the way, there is no automatic two side printing. You actually have to get off your b---, take out the first printing, turn it over and refeed the stack. I was used to doing that with the old WF-520 and never had a problem. I will now set up a once a week, automatic scheduled printing task. I will just have to make sure there is paper on hand. Lack of use is the killer of these inkjet machines regardless of manufacturer.

The intensity of the higher DPI and other settings makes this a marvelous Printer.
Style: ET-4800, Color: White, Set: FAX/ADF/Print/Copy/Scan
I am a former Canon product user for years. I became disappointed two printers ago. Support is horrible. So, I ordered this Epson. Initially, because of the differences I was somewhat confused on the set-up; however, once completed, I can completely endorse this product. The printing is absolutely tops. The ink system is fantastic. AND, it has fax capabilities which I tested and works great. Can not say enough good things about it. I specialize in historical photo and documentation restoration - and this printer works GREAT.

It’s about support more than anything else !
Style: ET-4800, Color: White, Set: FAX/ADF/Print/Copy/Scan
Printer worked great until it didn’t. Cleared a paper jam that kept giving an issue. Then it gave a scanner error, after paper jam was resolved. I called support; they gathered all my info. Transferred me to someone else who then told me she’d email me some numbers to call for deals on refurbished printers or onsite support. I ended ups solving the problem… I threw the printer in the trash, and will likely not buy anymore epson products. I was willing to pay for service but not waste more time and making more phone calls. I had a credit card; i was willing to use it.
