Knit a beautiful, beginner-friendly Sophie Scarf!

TWO Wednesdays @ 5-7pm: April 15th & May 6th

We often joke that if we got a nickel every time someone told us they were knitting a Sophie Scarf, we'd be rich!

With nearly 50,000 projects on Ravelry, the Sophie Scarf by Petite Knit is everyone's favorite way to use up those luxurious single skeins!

A simple garter stitch scarflette flanked by tidy i-cord edges, the Sophie Scarf uses simple increases and decreases to achieve its shape.

If you're a beginner knitter looking to expand your skills with simple shaping, reading your fabric, understanding a pattern, and tracking your rows, then this is a great class for you!

What you need to know and be comfortable completing without help from the instructor (or you're willing to learn before this class): How to knit and purl, comfort working with thinner yarns (fingering to DK weight will work for this class)

What you'll learn in this class: How to work increases and decreases, reading a pattern, using circular needles to work back and forth, using a stitch marker to track your rows, reading your fabric, fixing common mistakes, knitting i-cord edging, blocking and finishing your work

Required Materials:

We hope you'll consider supporting us by purchasing your materials at Knit 1!

Yarn: You will need 120-150 yards of sport or DK weight yarn. There is some flexibility in the yarn that you can use for this project since it is a scarf. We recommend selecting a sport or DK weight yarn, then selecting the needle size (US 4-6) depending on the yarn you selected.

Recommended yarns from the shop include: Lamana Como & Como Tweed, The Fibre Co Acadia, The Fibre Co Road to China Light, Manos del Uruguay Sami & Marla, Spincycle Dyed in the Wool, Cascade Eco & Pure Alpaca, Sandnes Garn Double Sunday, West Yorkshire Spinners BFL Fleece, Cascade Hamptons, Cascade Pandamonium, BC Garn Bio Balance, Laines du Nord Soft Lino, Laines du Nord Baby Soft

Needles:

  • US 4-6 24” circular needles (depending on the yarn you select)

Notions: tapestry needle, scissors, opening/locking stitch markers

What you'll get:

  • Two 2-hour class sessions with expert instruction by Bree
  • Sophie Scarf Pattern  (PDF via email & in your Ravelry library)

This class is intended for adults 18+.

Please read our class policies before signing up for this class.

Well made, a solid connection.
Size: 6 Pairs / 12 pcs
I liked them. They really lock down on the speaker wire to make a firm connection. They seem well made and are easy to install. My system sounds great.

Works as intended
Size: 12 Pairs / 24 pcs
These banana plugs are quite easy to use, and securely connected my speaker cables to the receiver. They have a quality feel as well.

Tips broke in the binding post
Size: 12 Pairs / 24 pcs, Size: 12 Pairs / 24 pcs
UPDATE: Two tips broke off when unplugging them from the binding post and are now lodged in. Inexcusable and an utterly poor product. Solid connection in the binding post with no wobble or wiggle. They require some force to insert into the binding post, but once they're in they remain snug. I also tried removing and reinserting a few times and the connection remained solid. I've used other plugs in the past that have a softer tip and easily deform after one or two insertions. These do not have that issue.
