В сборнике представлены научные статьи и доклады, свидетельства людей, переживших Холокост в одесском регионе, документы из музейных архивов, а также впервые публикуется обширный блок материалов из Государственного архива Одесской области (ГАОО).
Настоящее издание является одним из результатов исследовательского и образовательного проекта «История Холокоста в Одесском регионе», который реализуется Музеем еврейской истории Одессы «Мигдаль-Шорашим» с 2004 года.
Книга состоит из введения и 18-ти статей по различным аспектам Катастрофы в Одессе и области.
Мемуарную часть книги представляют опубликованные в ней воспоминания Р. Удлера и И. Каплера, а также дневник Л. Калики «Одесса. 820 дней в подземелье», являющийся ценным источником по теме. Завершают книгу библиография по теме Холокоста в Одесском регионе, а также обширный блок материалов, подготовленных зам. директора Государственного архива Одесской области Л. Белоусовой.

The collection contains research papers and reports, testimonies of survivors of the Holocaust in Odessa region, the documents from the museum archives, and published the first extensive array of materials from the State Archives of Odessa Oblast (SAOR).
This publication is one result of research and education project "History of the Holocaust in Odessa region, which is implemented by the Museum of Jewish History of Odessa" Migdal Shorashim since 2004.
The book consists of an introduction and 18 articles on various aspects of the Holocaust in Odessa and the region.
Memoirs of the books are published in her memoirs Udler R. and J. Kapler, as well as a diary L. Calico Odessa. 820 days in the dungeon ", which is a valuable source on the topic.
