The Rivehead Jerk Series was first released in 1985. The term "Jerk" roughly translates to "with a twist" which can clearly be seen in the design of this awesome bass guitar. This Bass sounds great, and has a sound of its own. We have been unable to date this guitar, the serial is 002681 which is pretty low. We have seen other RMC-700 dates to 1987 so we would guess it was built between 1985 and 1987. Riverhead is believed to have ceased operations in the late 1980s, around 1987 or 1988, when the demand for their unique, pointy guitar designs waned.

Condition:

This is a used guitar.
Physically this unit is in great condition. It shows some general wear due to due and age. Wear includes some imperfections and small dents, some scratches and scuffs. Some of the red finish has come off the edges. Please see photos for further details.
This guitar has been tested and set up. It is fully functional, the intonation has been checked.
This RMC-700 has had a minor service. This included:

Cleaning the neck, buffed and polished frets.
Pickup height adjusted.
String height adjusted.
Switches and pots were cleaned.
Brand new strings have been installed.

For safety during shipping, tension will be taken off the neck. The guitar will need to be tuned on arrival.
Please note that although we have tested the intonation and set up the guitar here, due to the nature of guitars as well as the shipping and handling process there is a chance you will need to set up the guitar again. The set up may need to be modified to suit your personal preferences.
This guitar will ship with a gig bag.
Guitars picked up from our West Gosford store will set up ready to play!
