The Piggy Incredible High Technics HU-8400 Chromatic Tuner, produced in Japan in the late 1970s to early 1980s, is a compact tuner from Piggy’s short-lived but distinctive effects lineup, designed to provide stage-friendly chromatic tuning for guitar and bass before digital pedal tuners became standard. The HU-8400 uses an analogue meter-style display for pitch indication and offers chromatic operation rather than fixed key tuning, making it more flexible than many contemporary tuners of its time. Now relatively uncommon, it is valued primarily as a vintage curiosity and collector piece, appreciated for its design and place in the early evolution of pedalboard tuning solutions.

  • This unit is in good condition. It shows some minor signs of wear like some marks, nicks and scratches. Nothing Major. Please see all photos.

  • This unit is 100% functional. All controls work as they should.

  • This unit can power off a 9V battery or 9V negative centre power supply. Neither are included in the sale.

  • This sale is for the HU-8400 only. Nothing else is included in this sale.
