Au24 SX audio cables represent the biggest transformation in cable performance ever achieved by Audience. They are notably more transparent, dynamic, more resolved and have greater weight and authority which users find immediately noticeable. There are many reasons for the improvement, including the use of purer OCC copper (now six nines) and higher quality XLPE dielectric insulation as well as tweaking of geometry as compared to the historic lines of Au24 cables. Audience double cryogenically treats all SX cables in their in-house cryo-lab. Each component part of the cable is individually treated, then, after the cables are assembled and tested, the complete cable is cryo treated. This is process is called CRYO².

Note that the Au24 SX speaker cables are a heavier gauge than the previous Au24 SE. In comparison to the SE, the SX speaker cables are more relaxed yet more dynamic and have a richer tonal palette. The RCA connectors are a new proprietary solder-free design. And the XLR is a whole new true dedicated differential cable designed from the ground up solely for balanced circuits.

Au24 SX cables, like all previous Au24 cables, are low mass and low eddy current resistance designs with minimal jacketing materials. They retain natural timing and timbre thus recreating original sound fields like no other cables.

Range and Pricing

Audience Au24 SX series cables are available in RCA, XLR, USB, RCA-DIN, Subwoofer RCA, S/PDIF RCA-RCA, S/PDIF RCA-BNC and S/PDIF BNC-BNC, AES/EBU and Phono versions. The pricing for a 1m pair of the RCA interconnects is $3,125 and a 1m pair of the XLR interconnects is $4,125.

Soundstage, Jason Thorpe, 2020

If, like me, you want to sit, listen, and not be assaulted by details at the periphery of the musical experience, if you want to relax into the music and let the messages it carries envelop you, you should definitely check out Audience’s Au24 SX interconnects and speaker cables.

Some of the notes that I repeatedly kept jotting down as I did my listening was romantic, controlled, and studio. With the Audience loom, it feels like I am being transported to the studio, listening to music from the recording engineer’s seat.

These are some of the finest, most musical components I’ve ever used, wire or otherwise, and it’s going to be very, very hard to pry them out of my system. Unequivocally recommended as a true long-term reference.

Positive Feedback, Myles B. Astor, 2018

The Audience cable interconnect didn’t disappoint. The cable’s rich and liquid nature and luscious midrange came through loud and clear. These cables really allowed the system to paint a realistic picture of the Maya McCraven’s quartet of cello, bass, drums and vibes performing in your listening room. That’s coupled with the Audience’s remarkable ability to dig deep down into the mix and capture inner detail such as instruments playing ever-so-softly in the background.

The Absolute Sound Editors’ Choice Award 2017, 2018

Audience’s Latest flagship wire offers midrange weight and sweetness, vivid dynamic contrasts, excellent transient speed, sensitivity to delicate volume gradations, and a brilliance that casts light into the deepest corners of the soundstage, restoring air and lift to harmonics. A particular strength for all Audience cables is an often hard-to-achieve blend of tactile presence and back-of-the-hall reverberation. The Au24 SX strikes a fluid and natural balance of ease, articulation, and immersiveness. Flexible and easy to handle, too.

The Absolute Sound 2017 Product of the Year

Audience’s latest flagship wire struck a fluid and natural balance of ease, articulation, and immersiveness. It has a ripe midrange weight and sweetness, vivid dynamic contracts, and a profound sensitivity to the finest volume gradations. Ultimately it possesses a brilliance factor that casts light into the deepest corners of the soundstage and restores air and lift to harmonics. A particular strength for Au24 SX cables is the often hard-to-manage blend of the transient, the tactile, and the reverberant. Flexible and easy to handle, too. In a word, superb.

I was looking for the best and during my first round of listening and I felt I found it almost immediately. After months of listening, I’ve only reaffirmed this belief. If you’re looking for a goose bump-inducing, smooth, and acoustically hypnotic cable, there is no better. From delivery of the largest of crescendos to the most subtle of aural nuances, the Au24 SX will present them in the form of monstrous dynamics and immaculate articulation.

After spending a good deal of time with the Audience AU24SX interconnects and speaker wire and given their excellent sonic performance, I can recommend them very highly. While they are not rock bottom price wise, in in the world of high-end cables, they are relatively inexpensive. For all of these reasons, I can easily nominate them for an Audiophilia Star Component Award.

Uncompromising Quality at Every Price Point
I really like this watch. The case and back are made of steel and it is substantial. The glass is very hard and clear. The writing on the face is subtly three dimensional (it’s not just printed on the surface). Even the three circles on the face have very precise, slightly raised concentric circles. It’s a little hard to see the black hour and minute hand agains the military green watch face in low light. But it is also what makes this watch aesthetically unique. I am a little confused as to why the second hand is bright yellow, but the hour and minute hand are not outlined in yellow. If you are in sunlight, it’s easy to read the time. I got the version with the rubber band. I like that a lot too. Soft, substantial, pliable. Very comfortable. Timex is consistently high quality for each price point (ranging from $20 resin cases to $2,000 titanium). If you pay more, the materials and details match that price. But, the quality is always uncompromising. And their watches are both simple and aesthetically pleasing.

Great watch, but serious design flaw; Not expedition worthy.
Color: Black/Black/Brown
This is a great watch. Love the metal casing, band, and aesthetic design. Although it looks and 'feels' rugged, it is not worthy for the man of adventure. Let me explain. The middle knob of the watch (the main knob that you push for light/pull to set time) is a bit large and too exposed for its own good. This makes the knob vulnerable to any stress. Example, if you flex your wrist/hand backwards throughout your adventures, whether pushing yourself off the ground or climbing over rocks, the back of your hand places pressure on the knob. The knob eventually reacts to this stress by breaking off. The knob has a little metal stem behind it that appears to be made of lower quality metal. This knob is crucial to the watch as it is used to set the time (by pulling and turning knob). Without it, the watch is useless regarding time. If you are having difficulty understanding the hand/wrist stress, think of yourself in a push-up position while wearing the watch. The back of your hand places stress on the knob which is exacerbated by the angle of the watch strapped in that position. Perhaps I had a fluke, but this same problem happened on 3 watches. Yes, I loved this watch so much, that I purchased it 2 more times. The knob on the first one broke after being in the field doing archaeology, the second in an outdoor adventure, and the 3rd occurred by simply pushing myself off the floor after lying down. The knob broke off in all 3. This is a design flaw combined with low quality metal for the metallic rod behind the knob. If you look at a few other Timex 'expedition' models, you'll see the case is molded to the sides of the knob, protecting it from stress. This particular model could use something like that. I really loved this watch and still do. But I cannot recommend it to men who do active things. If you have a simple life working in the office and come home to the couch, this watch will suit you fine. For all others who move their hands in all sorts of directions, beware of this watch.

Great starter Field Watch. Rugged but simple and elegant.
Color: Black/Black/Brown, Color: Black/Black/Brown
I've been wanting to own a field watch for a while. I never got used to smart watches anyway, so I decided to go for a good brand that doesn't cost too much. I decided for this Time Expedition because it gas a good balance between rugged looks, simplicity and elegance. It's perfect for wearing every day, but also great for when you need to dress up as well. If you are planning on getting this watch, be aware that the seconds are tracked on the small dial at the bottom. The large "seconds" hand it's meant for the chonograph feature, so it will sit static at the zero mark until you start the chonograph. You also need to set it up out of the box. It's a simple process to set up the time, the date and reset the small dials in the zero position. The watch came without a manual, but there are plenty of videos on Youtube showing how to set up and use this exact model The band is simple but elegant. It looks like nobuck but it's not really real leather. I can't say how durable it is yet or how long it will look over the time, but Timex is respectable enough so I expect this band to last several months. It can be replaced and there are lots of aftermarket options so I don't worry about this. As other Expedition watches, it also comes with the Indiglo feature. You can activate night mode by pushing down the main button, then the entire face lights up. When using this feature, I noticed that the hands (being white) do not have a good contrast against the lit up face, but you get used to it. The hands themselves are bright under low-light conditions, so you don't really need the Indiglo feature unless you need to see other details from the watch Anyway, I'm very happy with this purchase.

Did not arrive in original packaging, though I do like the watch.
Color: Black/Black/Brown
The watch is great, I love it. I've had it for a week now and it's comfortable, functional, and stylish. However, I'm giving it only 3 stars because of how I received it. It was delivered in a ziplock sleeve with the warranty sheet stuffed in a bubble wrap package. I bought what was described as a new product, but it did not come in the original package, nor owners manual. I had to find the manual from the manufacturer's website in order to set the dang thing!! It begs the question... Did I really receive a genuine Timex timepiece? Either way, so far I'm happy with the product with the exception that the second hand on the stop watch sits about half a click left of noon. I have not yet tested the water resistance, which I'm a little apprehensive about since there seemed to be some sort of light colored lubricant or seal around the crown. I'll have to try it before my time frame for returns has passed. All in all, I would buy it again, just not from amazon fulfillment! UPDATE: I haven't worn the watch in over a year because the crown used to set the time has popped off. Spent no small amount of time trying to find a replacement, but I can't find good measurements for it. Would have to have access to an assortment and go by trial and error.... I guess it still deserves 3 stars?

Takes a Licking and Keeps on Ticking
Color: Green/Black
I love this watch despite the fact that it is really a toy. I love the look of the watch, I love how lite the weight of the watch is on my wrist, and it really does keep good time if you manage the solar charge properly. Other than looking cool on your wrist, this watch has absolutely no functions other than time keeping. The black plastic bezel is molded into the case and does not turn, so don't plan on using that. The watch has no light, the dial numbers are non-luminous and the hands are very limited in terms of luminosity. No buttons. All you can do is adjust the time and date by pulling out what used to be a winding stem in the good old days. The small tag on the strap with Geographic coordinates shown on it indicate the location of the old Timex manufacturing facility (SW of Waterbury, CT). I have a nice ledge at my bedroom window and it gets good western sun for a good part of the day regardless of the time of year. On this ledge you will find a half dozen solar powered watches (mostly Casio) properly aligned to maximize the charge they may receive each day. Note that the description for this Timex watch specifically states that a lightbulb won't charge this watch. You need direct sunlight for several hours if you want to get more than a 3-week charge into this watch. So, I'll leave you with a couple of tips, my friends; 1.) If you are looking for a first watch to give your outdoorsy oriented Son or Daughter, then give them this one. Why? Because it is cool looking, fairly well built, and it actually works, 2.) After you receive your Timex watch, be sure to keep the display mount it is packaged with. It makes a great fixture to mount your watch on for charging and allows you to maximize the position of the solar cells on the dial so that you can optimize charging time. Have Fun! Jimmy
