ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

Madrid, 1975. The Franco dictatorship is in its last days and the tension on the streets is difficult to contain. During a student protest, Alma's bookstore is attacked and burned to the ground.

Believed to be one of the protesters, Alma is arrested and taken into custody by Juárez, an officer in the regime's repressive police force. Their paths cross with two of the demonstrators, Alejandro and Alicia; Mario, an international photographer who documents the volatile events; and Nando and Luisa, booksellers from very different backgrounds joined by a desire for justice and freedom.

In a country with an uncertain future, where change seems inevitable, these characters come together in the type of unlikely friendship that can only be forged in history's darkest moments.

In this impressive debut, Sergio Bang tells a masterful and moving story of diversity and struggle in which bookstores serve as places of refuge and community, and literature becomes a powerful weapon to change the world.

Yeesss...
Such a lovely soft lavender! Cooling and soft and wonderful. I sleep hot and have night sweats (post menopause is a witch!), but this little comforter kept me cool and dry. I did notice that it wasn't effective with a top sheet underneath it. You really need it to be directly on the skin for the cooling effect. Besides this (and the price) I have no regrets. Will definitely buy again, if it goes on sale.
