True 1:1 Macro Performance
Designed for close-up work, this lens offers life-size 1:1 magnification and a minimum focusing distance of just 11.8 inches, allowing you to capture intricate details with precision. Whether you’re photographing textures, small subjects or fine patterns, it delivers impressive clarity and accuracy.
Advanced Optical Design
A Ultra-Low Dispersion (UD) element is used to reduce chromatic aberration and colour fringing, helping produce clean, accurate images. Super Spectra coating is applied to the lens elements to minimise ghosting and flare, ensuring strong contrast and natural colour fidelity even in challenging lighting.
Built-In Optical Image Stabilisation
The lens features an Optical Image Stabilizer that helps reduce the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting. It compensates for:
- Up to two stops at 1:1 magnification
- Three stops at 1:2 magnification
- Four stops at lower magnifications
This makes it especially useful when working in low light or with slower shutter speeds.
Fast, Precise Autofocus
A ring-type Ultrasonic Motor (USM) combined with internal focusing delivers fast, accurate and quiet autofocus, with full-time manual focus override for fine control. A focus range limiter allows you to restrict focusing to:
- 11.8" – 1.6'
- 1.6' – infinity
- Full range from 11.8" – infinity
This improves speed and responsiveness when working at specific distances.
Beautiful Background Blur
The rounded 9-blade diaphragm creates smooth, pleasing out-of-focus areas, making this lens well suited to shallow depth-of-field photography, whether shooting macro details or portraits.
