У книжці зібрані понад 200 давніх геральдичних віршів та панегіриків, перекладених сучасною українською мовою В. Шевчуком.

Тексти української геральдичної поезії доповнювали зображення гербів меценатів, прикрашали звороти титульних аркушів українських стародруків, а тексти панегіриків друкувалися окремими виданнями малими тиражами. Присвячені найвидатнішим постатям, що мали значний вплив на культурне життя ранньомодерної України, тексти української геральдичної та панегіричної поезії віддзеркалюють ті ідеали та ціннісні орієнтири, що були притаманні еліті українського суспільства XVI–XVIII ст.

Унікальність української геральдичної та пропам’ятної поезії полягає також в тому, що ці тексти видавалися як на теренах України (в Острозі, Дермані, Рохманові, Львові, Києві, Луцьку, Чернігові та Почаєві), так і за її межами (в Кракові, Вільнюсі, Вієвісі та Кутеїні), демонструючи єдність української та західноєвропейської культурної традиції. Саме від західноєвропейської книжкової культури давні українські друкарі запозичили практику присвячувати видання впливовим особам, що були дійсними чи потенційними меценатами книговидавничих підприємств. Зібрані та перекладені В. О. Шевчуком тексти розпорошених по різних збірках та виданих малими тиражами віршів презентують раніше недоступні для широкого кола читачів вершинні твори різномовної поезії українського бароко, написані староукраїнською, польською та латинською мовами.

Love this! Bought a second one. It is sturdy with a lot of protection in the hard case. I expected the case to be soft, but as I think of it, I am happy that it is hard shelled on the outside in order to protect the items inside. The case also has tons of room. I will keep my most-used jewelry packed in it and just grab this case when I travel. Prior to ordering this, I ordered another brand and I am SO happy that I returned that one. It was flimsy, cheaply made and not functional. This is great - looks expensive, well made, velvet lined, plenty of room. This is a bit on the larger side, but completely functional to put into a suitcase. It is organized well, too. My only suggestion for the makers is that the inside dividers could be secured better (they move around a bit) and if they wanted to hit it out of the park, they could actually offer additional dividers for that section (since the sections are fairly large, they could be divided further). However, all in all, this is a great travel organizer and a good value!

I chose the black color because I thought it wouldn't show wear and tear as much as a lighter color. The zippers were tricky occasionally. That's also why I took the mirror piece out so it would zip better. I am happy with this travel case and will use it again.
