Part searing examination, part call to arms--a bold case against modern sexual ethics, from young Washington Post columnist Christine Emba.

For years now, modern-day sexual ethics has held that "anything goes" when it comes to sex--as long as everyone says yes, and does so enthusiastically. So why, even when consent has been ascertained, are so many of our sexual experiences filled with frustration, and disappointment, even shame?

The truth is that the rules that make up today's consent-only sexual code may actually be the cause of our sexual malaise--not the solution. In Rethinking Sex, reporter Christine Emba shows how consent is a good ethical floor but a terrible ceiling. She spells out the cultural, historical, and psychological forces that have warped our idea of sex, what is permitted, and what is considered "safe." In visiting critical points in recent years--from #MeToo and the Aziz Ansari scandal, to the phenomenal response to "Cat Person"--she reveals how a consent-only view of sex has hijacked our ability to form authentic and long-lasting connections, exposing us further to chronic isolation and resentment.

Reaching back to the wisdom of thinkers like Thomas Aquinas and Andrea Dworkin, and drawing from sociological studies, interviews with college students, and poignant examples from her own life, Emba calls for a more humane philosophy, one that starts with consent but accounts for the very real emotional, mental, social, and political implications of sex--even, she argues, if it means saying no to certain sexual practices or challenging societal expectations altogether.

More than a bold reassessment of modern norms, Rethinking Sex invites us to imagine what it means to will the good of others, and in turn, attain greater affirmation, fulfillment, and satisfaction for ourselves.

Can easily hide towels
Works nicely. I have it mounted with towels hanging on the inside of my cabinet so you see only the small hooks on the outside of the cabinet door. It extends nicely and has ample room for one towel folded in half on each bar; you would have to fold each towel again to get 2 side by side. Only minor issue the hooks extend over the door a little lower than I'd like and they are beveled outward on the bottom so you see this on the outside. I have a similar design single bar rack with smaller less noticeable hooks. Neither one is completely invisible but at least I can hide the towels and not cover up my new beautiful stainless range or cabinets with towels. Worth the money.

A simple but useful little gadget
I love my little galley kitchen which really only has one wall as it is open to the family room and dining room. So no available wall space meant no place to install towel bars. That meant there was no space to hang up my dish towels to dry. These towel bars were the solution to that little (but daily) annoyance. They attached easily and securely to my cabinet drawers. I am very pleased with them.

Great Towel Rack
This is a replacement for a similar towel rack. It looked exactly the same, but welds failed after a number of years. This one is designed much better. It is adjustable the other was not. Very clean looking and expect this to last at least as long as the other or longer. My wife loves it.

Sturdy but hard to use
This bar is sturdy and doesn't bend but the bars are too close together making it difficult to hang towels on. Pro: sturdy and quality made Con: hard to use

Perfect for my needs
I don’t have many towel racks in my bathrooms and they’re hard for me to reach because I’m disabled. I bought a couple of small over the door racks, but they’re too small for hand towels. I didn’t have high hopes for this adjustable rack, I thought it would uncouple and fall from the door. I’m pleased to say I was wrong. There appears to be a stopper keeping both sides in place. I like that it has 2 bars, I easily put my face towel on one and my hand towel on the other. If I have a complaint, I wish the whole unit was another inch longer.
