Every rebuild starts with the crank, and on a stock-displacement Type 1 the 69mm forged crankshaft is the foundation you want under a fresh motor. This is EMPI's 69mm forged stock-stroke crank (00-8119-0) on standard VW journals — forged steel, not cast, so it holds up to hard street use where a cast replacement can let go.

Features

  • Forged construction — markedly stronger than a cast crank, the right call for a motor you'll actually drive hard
  • 69mm stock stroke — correct for 1200–1600cc displacement
  • Standard VW rod and main journals — runs standard-size bearings
  • 4-dowel flywheel flange — stock-style fitment
  • A direct, durable replacement for a tired or out-of-spec original crank

Fitment

CONFIRMED: VW Type 1 1200–1600cc — Beetle, Super Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Type 3, Bus — using the stock 69mm stroke and standard journals. NOT CONFIRMED: stroker builds (those need a longer-stroke crank such as the 74/76/78/82mm cranks), Type 4 engines. Check that your bearings match standard journal size.

Specifications

  • Stroke: 69mm (stock)

  • Part Number: 00-8119-0 | UPC: 707924485493

Questions & Answers

What displacement is this for? Stock 69mm stroke for 1200–1600cc engines.

Forged or cast? Forged — stronger than the cast direct-drilled crank, better for performance and hard use.

What bearings does it use? Standard-size VW rod and main bearings.

Can I build a stroker with it? No — this is stock stroke; a stroker needs a longer-stroke crank.

What's the part number? EMPI 00-8119-0 (UPC 707924485493).

Are you an authorized dealer? Yes — Washburn's Metal is an authorized EMPI dealer.

Great dog toy! Good quality!
Color: brown1
Great quality dog toy! The rope is thick and not easy to break. Fun toy for my medium-sized dog who loves to tug-of-war with me.

For small dog
Color: brown4, Color: brown4
It's cute for the price, but it's meant for small dogs, it's very easy for medium-sized dogs to destroy.

Small Pug Enjoyment For All!
Color: brown1, Color: brown1
We got this toy to replace an earlier purchase for a rope/squeak toy after finding he loved a holiday purchase by an Aunt which squeaked but was not really meant for tugging/heavy playing like he wanted too, for our half pug/schnauzer Mr. Pug. Compared to the first toy and the attempted replacement he ADORES this toy! As you can see in the above picture he has truly laid his claim to it! About the product in general though, we found it surprisingly sturdy all around, even with heavy tugging and aggressive play. The interior padding is durable it seems, and holes where the rope come out have a heavy duty padding for the target dog audience like ours in preventing him from chewing or tearing it up. The crinkly ears were also an enjoyable surprise for him, and the squeaker can move around the torso area of the toy keeping him actively looking for it when he desires it. All in all we would certainly get another toy like this in the future.

Great wrestle or chewing toy for your pet.
Color: brown1
My 4 legged "little boy" loves to play, even at 10 years old but is getting a tad "over the hill" for chasing a ball. This toy has brought him (and me) many hours of fun as it can be played with in the house without chance breaking something (it is soft) and was fairly well thought out - being made with the "squeeker" in one end, and a couple of ropes sewn in to provide a "tug of war" when he is really feeling frisky. I've had it around 6 months and it has only incurred minor damage and really just normal wear and tear considering what it has gone thru. A great toy for the price that your pet may play with by itself, or one you can use to wrestle with it so you can be part of the action. When this one is finally torn apart, I will be buying another one (if the dog out lasts it), or I will bury my pet with this one if it out lasts him. It's that special.
