ABOUT THE ART

This 'Wolverine' Be@rbrick by Medicom Toy captures the character through the lens of Japanese designer vinyl—where pop culture icons are reinterpreted into minimalist, collectible art forms. Released in 2011 as part of a limited Marvel collaboration, the figure translates 'Wolverine’s' classic yellow-and-blue comic suit into the instantly recognizable Be@rbrick silhouette, blending Western comic heritage with Eastern toy design.

The result is a striking hybrid: bold, graphic, and highly stylized, yet unmistakably true to the character’s roots. Presented in its original comic-inspired blister packaging, the piece carries a strong visual nostalgia that echoes vintage action figure releases while remaining firmly within the world of contemporary collectible art.

What sets this example apart is the addition of an in-person signature from Hugh Jackman, whose portrayal of Wolverine defined the character for modern audiences. Signed prominently in blue marker across the blister, the autograph adds a dynamic, almost graffiti-like energy to the clean lines of the packaging. This juxtaposition—refined designer toy meets raw, personal signature—creates a compelling crossover between film history and collectible design. It’s not just a figure, but a moment where comic, cinema, and art toy culture intersect.

Further elevating its desirability, the piece includes Medicom’s tamper-proof hologram and a StockX “Verified Authentic” tag, reinforcing its legitimacy within the secondary collector market. With its limited production, sold-out status, and strong condition, this signed Be@rbrick stands as a unique and highly displayable collectible—appealing equally to Marvel fans, autograph collectors, and enthusiasts of high-end designer vinyl.

Entertaining read
Format: Kindle
I wanted to educate myself on some of the issues that are presented in this book. If you're looking for just factual case-law and supreme court decisions this is not the book you're looking for. This book presents the cases in a story and gives a lot of detail about what went on in the lives of the people involved in these lawsuits outside of the courtroom. The only thing that I wish would have been talked about in greater detail would be a more in-depth look at the opinions and reasons from the justices that were not voting in favor of the plaintiffs.

Excellent Details
Format: Kindle
If you're like me, you've probably either never heard of these cases or heard about them in only the broadest of strokes. For remedying that, this book is excellent. Thomas provides a detailed account of how these complaints came to be, how they wended their way through the cases, and why they are important in terms of outcome and legal precedent. This is a book that I'm glad to have read and one that I would highly recommend to others.

engrossing, revealing, shocking, fascinating -- 10 gritty women who won big cases at great personal loss
Format: Kindle
Thankfully, women no longer have to pay more for retirement plans, and get lower payouts, than men. Amazing how many different, inventive the ways were in the 1960's to keep women out of jobs. Bless Title VII and the attorneys and clients who fought these battles; we stand on their shoulders. The saddest part is the update, at the end of the book showing how protections against gender discrimination in the workplace have weakened in recent years. In particular, it has become difficult, or nearly impossible, to prove that a hostile work environment exists so long as employers pay lip service to certain ideas and practices and hide what's really going on--which we working women KNOW still goes on, unfortunately.

Entertaining, personal history of landmark cases
Format: Hardcover
Amazing look behind the scenes at the people (plaintiffs and lawyers) who made equality for women at work a reality. Compelling, heartwarming, and educational - should be required reading for anyone who holds a job in 21st century America - both to learn how far we've come and to see the ways in which we need to continue the fight for equality at work.
