Wood-canvas construction was pioneered in Maine and first offered commercially in the mid 1870s. Wood-canvas became the standard for canoes primarily because it was so much cheaper than all wood construction. A wood-canvas canoe is watertight due to a canvas covering stretched over a wooden hull in which the planks are merely butted together. After it is fastened to the wooden hull, the canvas is "filled" to make it waterproof and then painted. This model features strip plank construction and is intended to introduce beginners to this type of building method.

Thin, sticky, & hi-heat tolerant!
This tape is thin and doesn’t leave imprints on heat pressed apparel! I’ve used it on coffee mugs, koozies, clothing and hats and it adhered well to all of them, didn’t leave behind sticky residue even after 3 minutes of 430’ F it works perfectly.
