Table of Contents

In November 1633 the 358-ton ship "Ark" and the 26-ton ship "Dove" sailed from the Isle of Wight in England, transporting some 125 colonists to settle the Proprietary Province of Maryland.

This new work, The Ark and the Dove Adventurers, is the first comprehensive account of these original Maryland colonists, and it contains compiled genealogies of their descendants to the fifth generation when possible, much like the five-generation project of the Mayflower Society or the six generation project of the Order of First Families of Virginia. It is an authoritative and significant contribution to early Maryland history and genealogy and places Maryland "first families" on a par with the first families of Massachusetts and Virginia.

Because there are no recorded passenger lists for the Ark and Dove, the compilers have mined alternative record sources in order to reconstruct the rosters of passengers and crew and establish the genealogical links and vital statistics that make up the heart of this book. These sources include:

  • the Maryland Land Patent Books;
  • the minutes, proceedings, and records of the Maryland Prerogative Court,
  • Chancery Court,
  • Provincial Court,
  • and the Assembly;
  • the land, probate, court, tax, and other records of the original counties;
  • the registers of the earliest churches;
  • and Harry Wright Newman's The Flowering of the Maryland Palatinate.

Countless other sources are cited in footnotes. Edited by noted Maryland genealogists George Ely Russell, former editor of the National Genealogical Society Quarterly, and Donna Valley Russell, both Fellows of the American Genealogical Society, the work is divided into three parts:

Part One is devoted to Sir George Calvert (Lord Baltimore), the founder of Maryland, and his descendants.

Part Two, which comprises the majority of this work, presents biographical accounts of passengers known to have had families, plus genealogies of descendants, extended to the fifth generation.

Part Three describes the passengers who are not known to have had descendants.

Also included are some later arrivals previously and erroneously claimed as 1634 settlers, and some spurious or doubtful claims of descendants.

In addition, the book contains a comprehensive Index, compiled by Jane Fletcher Fiske, FASG, naming approximately 6,000 individuals, with women listed under both maiden names and married names.

About The Society of The Ark and The Dove
In 1910 some descendants of the Maryland pioneers, headed by George Norbury MacKenzie, gathered in Baltimore and formed The Society of The Ark and The Dove to perpetuate the memory of the first families of Maryland, and to provide opportunities for fellowship for all those who trace their descent from Lord Baltimore and from those who came on the Ark and the Dove in 1634 to settle the Proprietary Province of Maryland. The Society continues to encourage research in early Maryland history and promotes its goals through a variety of programs and publications.

really flat
Size: 6 Ft, Color: Black
The power strip itself is mostly normal. Not too thin, not too bulky, but it's the plug that makes this extra special. It's the thinnest we've found so far, which is excellent for hiding behind furniture that blocks outlets, while this strip still makes power easily accessible. Though I will say I do appreciate the USB A and C ports for charging and find them quite handy for quick charging devices. It is a lot more useful than I originally thought. My main gripe is that the mounting on the back is not the typical X X insets that others have, which allow sliding the screws into any direction, so it can be mounted any direction, and instead are just - - so it can only slide a single direction, which I find much more limited when we mounted these under our kids' desks.

Perfect for behind desks
Size: 10 Ft-2 Pack, Color: White
I bought this 2-pack of power strip surge protectors because I was tired of having to pull my dresser and nightstands 3 inches away from the wall just to plug something in. These have been a total game-changer for my home office and bedroom. Why These Are a Must-Have: • The Ultra-Thin Flat Plug: This is the best feature. The plug is so slim that I can push my furniture almost completely flush against the wall. No more wasted space or awkward gaps! • USB-C Ports Included: Finding a strip with 2 USB-C ports (plus a standard USB-A) at this price point is rare. I can fast-charge my phone and tablet directly from the strip without needing those bulky power bricks. • Long 10 Ft Cord: The 10-foot length gave me the flexibility to mount one under my desk while the other reaches all the way across the room to a hard-to-reach outlet. • Peace of Mind: With 1700 Joules of surge protection, I feel much safer plugging in my expensive laptop and monitor. A Quick Note: The mounting holes on the back are great for keeping the floor clear, but make sure you have your own small screws, as they don't always come with the specific ones for every wall type. The Verdict: Getting two of these for such a reasonable price is a steal. They look clean, feel sturdy, and the flat plug design is genius. 10/10 would buy again for the rest of the house!

Great For Battery Chargers On a Shelf!
Love this power strip, had it for probably a year plus now abs works great! The sole reason I purchased this item was so I can select what stays on and what gets turned off. I have this in my utility room and the sole purpose is to plug in battery chargers and to be able to turn off those battery chargers and leave the charger sitting there with the battery in the charger with no power. There is a light that tells you when a product is on and when a product is off . Example: I have AA&AAA battery charger, Ryobi leaf blower charger, Ryobi edger charger and any other charger I want. I have a night light plugged into it because angle allows that. The strip also has a USB that I use for a rechargeable Dremel used for dog nails or toy could use it for cell phone etc. My Flying Pig Grooming Dryer is attached and used with this strip as well. I have had no tripping issues with this power strip but I do keep in mind one high power items such as my grooming dryer at a time. I have a different company's power strip in my room just for you ladies it hidden behind a mirror and you can keep all your appliances plugged in and cell phones with the option of turning them all off with a button, cutting off power. This is an easy to reach power cord great for putting on a shelf. I am not sure how well it would work behind furniture due to the angle of the plugs. This worked with no issues and I would recommend this and purchase again. Now I am not concerned about saving items due to power surges with this power strip, I have strips that cost a lot of money a lifetime guarantee for those high end electronics like computers TV sets Etc

Good setup
This has been super useful and functional, I recommend it as it’s a nice way to keep your setup organized, I enjoy having the on and off switches go each outlet, only call out would be the buttons light up when on to show they are on and they are quite bright, so take note of it, it catches me off guard sometimes when I forget they light up and I turn my lights off, but it’s easier to keep in mind what I have charging. The speed of charging is good, the amount of plugs is a fair amount, I plug in my head phones, phone, watch, power bank and monitor. Then there’s the two usb as well as 2 usbc ports, it’s very convenient. It held up well it’s definitely good quality.
