Antique Hand-carved 20th Century Polynesian Kava Bowl

These rare and stunning wooden kava bowls, called a tanoa fai'ava, were handmade in Samoa in the mid-1900s and sourced during our recent sourcing trip to Hawaii. Carved from a single piece of wood, this bowl stands on eight round legs. Kava bowls were originally used by Polynesian elders for ceremonial purposes to mix a sedative tea made from the roots of the kava plant. The kava plant was crushed to a fine powder, mixed with water, and that tea was used for sacred ceremonial or medicinal purposes. These bowls are a remarkable example of centuries-old craftsmanship and have become important symbols of Samoan hospitality. They are often still used for ceremonial tea or displayed as sculptural pieces of art.

Whether your interior aesthetics be Wabi-Sabi, Contemporary, Mid-Century Modern, Global Eclectic, or Rustic Farmhouse to name a few, these Antique Kava Bowls will elevate and enrich any space.

Stool dimensions: 10.5ʺ D × 3.75ʺ H

Three books in one....
Format: Paperback
This is a three books in one. Could You Survive The Cretaceous Period, Could You Survive The Jurassic Period, and Could You Survive The Ice Age? It’s a LOT of fun. The last book is, in fact, split into three stories. As you get to try to survive in North America, Europe, and Australia. I enjoyed all the setting. Though I have to be honest I failed to return to the modern time from the Jurassic period. Trapped!!!! And…my friends in the book had a kid. I hope that does not destroy the timeline. But I enjoyed it. It reminded me a lot of the old Time Machine books.

They choose reading over screen time!
Format: Paperback
The nephews (10 & 8) love these kinds of books! I bought the prehistoric one as well and after they were done they swapped to continue their adventures! They're asking for more and choose the books over screen time! I'd say thats a win for the Aunt!
