Deze kleden zijn aangepast aan de westerse smaak en worden specifiek gemaakt voor de export. Dit verklaart de populairiteit in Europa en Amerika. De produktie vond plaats in de werkplaatsen van de Ziegler company zelf en niet, zoals daarvoor gewoonlijk was, bij de knopers thuis. De Zieglers die tot de eerste wereldoorlog werden geknoopt, waren fijn geknoopte kleden in zachte delicate kleuren. De kleden inspireerde verschillende nomadenfamilies en tegenwoordig worden ze in Afghanistan en Turkmenistan geproduceerd. De kleden, met hun karakteristieke blad- en bloemenpatroon zijn allemaal unieke variaties van harmonieus gecombineerde aardetinten zoals oker, gebrande sienna, indigo blauw en henna oranje. Om de kleden het gewenste patina te geven, worden ze eerst intensief gewassen en daarna gedroogd in de zon.
