Altijd leuk om een wat gerijpte wijn te kunnen kopen. Deze 2016 is gemaakt van druiven uit de Popoli-wijngaard, handgeplukt. Maceratie van tien dagen, natuurlijke fermentatie in stalen tanks met inheemse gist. Nadien 24 maanden rijping in grote houten vaten van 500 liter, die bovendien 5 jaar oud zijn (zeer beperkte afgave van smaak). 

Intens robijnrood met paarse tinten. Complexe neus met rijp zwart fruit zoals pruimen, bramen, cassis, en viooltjes. Kruiden en rokerigheid. Tertiaire aroma's met bosgrond, wat tabak en leer. Subtiele hint van vanille. Medium body met uitgesproken maar gepolijste tannines. Voelt nooit zwaar aan, lange afdronk.
