De FRITZ!Box 5530 & 5590 Fiber bieden voor internettoegang via glasvezel een modulair systeem dat is voorbereid voor de verbindingstypen AON en GPON. De bijbehorende FRITZ!SFP-Module AON en GPON worden al met de FRITZ!Box 5530 & FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber meegeleverd. Met FRITZ!SFP XGS-PON kan de FRITZ!Box Fiber nu ook op XGS-PON-aansluitingen worden gebruikt.
