Bloemen en groeigrootte

De bloeiperiode is vanaf maart tot en met april. De Stermagnolia is geschikt voor mensen die in het voorjaar meer bloemen in de tuin willen en vallen voor de mooie opvallende wit bloei. De stervormige bloemen trekken ook bijen en insecten aan. De bladeren zijn groen van kleur, zijn ovaal van vorm en hebben een huid-achtige structuur. De volwassen hoogte van deze sierheester is ongeveer 3 meter. Dus ook geschikt in kleine tuinen, zowel solitair als in een heesterborder.

Laagblijvende soort Magnolia boom / heester

Deze Magnolia soort is winterhard tot ongeveer -20 graden Celsius. Deze Stermagnolia 'Magnolia Stellata' lijkt qua bloeivormen en kleuren veel op de Magnolia Kobus. Het verschil is dat de Stellata magnolia ongeveer 3 meter hoog groeit, terwijl de Magnolia Kobus een volwassen hoogte heeft tussen de 8 en 12 meter.

Het zijn zuurminnende tuinplanten die ook geschikt zijn voor aanplant in (verse) bemeste tuinaarde van een verhoogde borderbak. Wij leveren deze Stermagnolia in verschillende potmaten met verschillende hoogtes door heel Nederland en Vlaanderen tot aan uw tuin.

Standplaats en aanplanting Stermagnolia - Magnolia stellata

De Magnolia soorten staan graag op een beschutte plek in de (voor)tuin. Volle zon wordt verdragen, echter dient de grond dan goed vochtig & doorlatend te zijn. Als u niet zeker bent van de kwaliteit van uw grond, ververst u de bovenste 20cm van uw tuingrond of gebruikt u bij het aanplanten DCM - Aanplantgrond voor zuurminnende tuinplanten. Een beschutte plek (halfschaduw) is de meest onderhoudsvriendelijke plek, omdat u dan minder water hoeft te geven. Gele bladeren is vaak een indicatie voor een te droge standplaats. Geef dan direct een ruime hoeveelheid water. Vaak wordt ons de vraag gesteld of de Magnolia ook in de schaduw kan. Maar teveel schaduw houdt een Magnolia niet van.

Alle Beverboom - Magnolia's zijn zuurminnende tuinplanten. Dat betekent dat de bodem voldoende zuur moet zijn om in staat te zijn om voedingstoffen op te nemen. De aarde in de pot van onze magnolia is zuur. Daarnaast is het verstandig om bij het aanplanten een ruime hoeveelheid DCM - Aanplantgrond voor zuurminnende tuinplanten te gebruiken. Strooi jaarlijks rondom het hart van de plant een ruime hoeveelheid tuinturf of resterende DCM - Aanplantgrond. De Magnolia's zijn geschikt om aan te planten in verhoogde borderbakken.

Tips voor het Stermagnolia - Magnolia stellata kopen en combineren

Wij leveren deze Magnolia in verschillende soorten en maten. Omdat het langzaamgroeiende struiken zijn, kiezen de meeste mensen voor een mooie grote Magnolia. Of u nou een Magnoliastruik, Magnolia op stam of Magnolia als meerstammige boom kiest is enkel afhankelijk van uw persoonlijke voorkeur. Elke vorm heeft zijn eigen sierwaarde. Het kweken van bomen op stam is een arbeidsintensief process. Daarom zijn deze in prijs hoger dan planten met struikvorm.

Omdat de Magnolia's zuurminnende tuinplanten zijn is het verstandig om ze te combineren met andere zuurminnende struiken. Dat zijn de Hortensia 'Hydrangea', Rododendron 'Rhododendron' of bijvoorbeeld de Japanse Rozen 'Camellia'. Kies rondom uw Magnolia voor bladverliezende struiken. Zorg wel voor gepaste afstand, dus geef deze Stermagnolia de ruimte! Directe buren houdt deze soort niet van.

Het afgevallen blad laten liggen, want deze verzuurt de bodem en zorgt voor voedingstoffen. Daarnaast stimuleert dit het bodemleven, die door het kruipen de bodem luchtig houdt. Aan en rondom de voet van de Magnolia is het leuk om een kant-en-klaar borderpakket te planten, denk aan onze halfzonnige plantenmix sets die u per m2 kunt kopen. De vaste planten sterven in het najaar bovengronds af, dat direct voor verzuring zorgt. In het voorjaar komen de vaste planten, samen met de bloemen van de Magnolia weer mooi op.

Leuk om te weten...

De magnolia's worden veel gebruik in parfums. Maar wist u dat de bladeren van de Magnolia ook eetbaar zijn? De rauwe bladeren zijn erg lekker en hebben wel iets weg van een citrus (citroen). Veel mensen doen het vanwege de zoete smaak ook denken aan de smaak van Ananas.

Lasts long and helps a ton!
The bottle of shampoo has lasted me about two months (I shampoo everyday). I have scalp psoriasis in patches on my scalp and behind+on my ears and I will say this does help in breaking up the patches with scrubbing. I usually let it sit while I wash my body and then once I rinse my hair I will rub the patches behind my ears and they will just roll up and come off. It's really soothing and doesn't smell AT ALL. I don't see a complete clear up of my psoriasis but it helps in the process of keeping a clear scalp. I use a mometosone furoate cream or topical hydrocordisone on my patches when I have bad days and that plus this shampoo is as good as I've ever felt about my scalp. If you're looking for a cure, don't buy this because that's not what this is and you'll feel you've wasted your money. If you want something that will give results of ANY kind because you have run out of other options, spend the few extra dollars and try this. As a side note, this foams up great if you apply UNDER you hair instead of right on top. It's harder to spread if you put it directly to the top of your head. I've also found that it has lasted over 2 months (good for the amount you get) at about a quarter size each wash. I also only use the conditioner when I feel my hair is super dry or needs a boost as I have naturally oily hair (hence the wash every day) and have only used about half the bottle in the 2 months I've had it. I'll be sticking with this brand for now!

I’m so disgusted and disappointed. I started having issues with build-up & dandruff again, so I ordered a new bottle, remembering how well this used to work for clarifying & healing my scalp. After using it for about 6 weeks the buildup was better, but I had all these swollen, raised areas all over my scalp that were extremely itchy. I figured it was seborrheic dermatitis taking a long time to clear up. Of course, I scrubbed those areas extra well (insert face-palm here). I have an old bottle of it at my parents’ house that I used over Christmas, and I was both flake and itch free. When I came home it started up again, and I noticed my hands were also breaking out again really severely as well. I now know to suspect my personal products. Naturally I went for the non-allergy friendly brands whose ingredients change on a whim first. Nothing. Finally grabbed the shampoo, thinking that couldn’t possibly be it— and to my shock and amazement, it IS. They don’t even try to hide it with different nomenclature. I’d take a picture to show you how badly this tears up my hands, but I literally just got them calmed back down with steroid cream so the visual effect isn’t as impressive. This makes me want to stop using all of their products, which I’ve depended upon rather heavily because of my allergies & sensitivities. I’ve been using various products from Puriya for YEARS because of it being allergy friendly. I’ve even recommended their products to our patients at my natural health practice. We even considered getting a wholesale account to carry them. Now I don’t feel like I can trust ANY of their products.
