De installatieboor is zeer robuust en bedoeld voor bekistingen. Boor en schachteinde zijn vastgeschroefd, daardoor geringe kans op breuk en soepel boren. De uitlopende spiraal en de tapse boor- en schachteinden voorkomen klemming, ook in vochtig hout, terwijl er voldoende kracht wordt uitgeoefend om door ingeslagen spijkers te boren. De boor heeft een extra lange schacht en is veelzijdig inzetbaar, in gelaagde bouwmaterialen of sandwichmaterialen, bijvoorbeeld voor bekistingsbouw en voor installatiewerk binnenshuis, sanitairinstallatie, verwarmingsbouw en elektrische installatie. Geschikt voor bekistingswerk, planken, balken, gipsplaten, lichte bouwmaterialen, isolatiemateriaal en metaal, bijvoorbeeld metalen platen, sandwichmateriaal met staal, aluminium of profielplaat.

De cilindrische schacht van de boor is geschikt voor alle boormachines met een 13 mm boorkop.
