Een echte 'powerwijn', maar dan wel met veel finesse en elegantie. Truffel, leer, chocola zijn elementen die eveneens zijn terug te vinden. Een prachtwijn met een grote complexiteit! De Amarone wordt gemaakt volgens de traditionele Italiaanse manier. De druiven voor de Amarone komen altijd van de best gelegen wijngaarden en de mooiste trossen. Om de druiven niet te beschadigen worden ze voorzichtig met de hand geplukt. Daarna worden ze voorzichtig naast elkaar in kratten in donkere, goed geventileerde schuren te drogen gelegd. Dit proces duurt enkele maanden. De druiven verliezen hierdoor 25 à 40 procent aan vocht, waardoor de concentratie van suiker, aroma- en smaakstoffen toeneemt. Na het drogen worden de druiven ontsteeld en voorzichtig geperst. Vervolgens vindt een langzame gisting plaats die ongeveer veertig dagen duurt. Nog niet alle suikers zijn dan vergist. De Amarone laat men vervolgens heel langzaam op grote fusten uitgisten. Het resultaat is een zware en droge rode wijn die lang bewaard kan worden.
