Markus Iro is de bevlogen wijnmaker van deze aromatische, op het fruit gemaakte mooie sappige Zweigelt. Het wijnhuis ligt in Gols, vrij noordelijk in het gebied van Neusiedlersee DAC. Sinds 2011 heeft Markus het wijngoed van zijn ouders overgenomen en leidt dit samen met zijn vrouw Ingrid.

Blauer) zweigelt is het belangrijkste blauwe druivenras van Oostenrijk en beslaat ongeveer 14 procent van de totale druivenaanplant. Deze in 1922 ontwikkelde kruising tussen st. laurent en blaufränkisch is genoemd naar de bedenker ervan, prof. dr. Fritz Zweigelt, die in Klosterneuburg verschillende kruisingen ontwikkelde. Wijnen van zweigelt zijn vaak soepel en lijken met hun fruitigheid een beetje op een krachtige Beaujolais of een wijn van pinot noir. Vooral Burgenland en Carnuntum staan bekend om hun goede Zweigelts.
