Zijn fruitig maar toch ook wel kruidig en sterk gestructureerd karakter maken hem een veelzijdige gezel bij allerlei vleessoorten als rund, fijn wild, kalf, lam en varken maar ook bij bereidingen met paddenstoelen, linzen, chorizo en Manchego kaas.

Klimaat

Gematigd warm klimaat dat sterk beïnvloed wordt door de nabijheid van de Middellandse zee en de hoog gelegen wijngaarden. Hoogte van 800-900 meter zorgt voor sterke afkoeling gedurende de nacht en in de winter. In het koudste seizoen valt ook het meeste neerslag.

Ondergrond

In de schaduw van de Sierra Mariola vlakbij een natuurpark. De bodems bevatten veel klei, zijn diep met veel stenen en zijn omringd door eeuwenoude bomen.

Vinificatie

100% Monastrell. Manuele, selectieve pluk bij optimale rijpheid. Fermentatie gebeurt in roestvrij stalen tanks onder gecontroleerde temperatuur (22-24°) waarna een maceratie op de pelletjes volgt van 20-25 dagen met dagelijks overpompen om kleur, aroma en structuur te bevorderen. Nadien volgt een malolactische gisting eveneens op inox om een zo puur en fris mogelijk karakter van Monastrell te bekomen. Geen hout!

Feels luxurious and silky soft! It is not very thick but does keep me very warm. In fact I have to kick my legs out sometimes when I’m using it. It does shed A LOT! Is give it a 7 out of 10 for quality because of the shedding and the top and underneath pieces are only secured on the edges, which makes it move around and I have to grab the edges and shake to get its form back to normal. I would definitely purchase again. Especially if the shedding reduces it goes away after I run it through a wash cycle. I do NOT recommend drying in the dryer. It will mat I can almost guarantee that. Almost all blankets like these do if you dry them in a dryer with heat. Maybe no heat tumble might work, but NO heat.

You will not regret buying this blanket!

I was actually looking for a cotton blanket to add to my bed for fall and winter. Then I came across THIS one. It happens to be the exact shade of (“seaglass” or teal or aqua or whatever you choose to call it) blue green that I am currently redoing my bedroom in. Maybe even depression. I’ve owned it for like 2 hours and I have a whole new outlook on life! I feel pampered, spoiled, like queen of the world, maybe even like Cleopatra! I think that it should be obvious by now that I’m giving this furry looking blanket two thumbs way way up! Sometimes I order things from Amazon and by the time they arrive Ive already forgotten about them. I was anxiously awaiting my blanket friends arrival and I was prepared to be very meh. Not this time! Nope! Best purchase ever! I know what I’m getting everyone for Christmas! Buy several for future use. This blanket has made me deliriously happy! Update: After owning this blanket for, like, a while, I still love it. Shockingly it washes up beautifully! A word of advice. Fabric softener is a big no no. It gets the fur gummy and feeling like unwashed hair after a month. I imagine. I’ve personally never gone with unwashed hair for more than a day or two. It is at its fluffy and soft best when you use one of those new Downey rinses instead. That seems to remove all residue and it comes out feeling even better than brand new. A word of warning. Do not picnic on this blanket. The fur will encase and preserve your crumbs better than Tupperware. You may find a lost treasure that you don’t actually want in there. Best used for sleeping only.
