Vlak voor zijn executie hield Love een indrukwekkende rede en deed hij een vurig gebed voor zichzelf en voor zijn land en volk. Al drie jaar na zijn dood verscheen er voor het eerst een werk van hem in Nederlandse vertaling. In dit boekje zijn vier preken opgenomen over Abia, de zoon van Jerobeam, in wie ‘wat goeds was voor de HEERE’. De preken zijn vooral gericht op jonge mensen. Ze zijn bemoedigend: je kunt zelfs in een kwade tijd en in een goddeloos huis ‘iets goeds voor de Heere’ vinden. Als de Heere Zelf aan het werk gaat dan komt dit vanzelf naar buiten toe openbaar. Liefdevol, ernstig en met hoop spreekt Love zo jonge mensen in onze tijd aan.
