Het porthuis werd destijds opgezet door 2 families namelijk de familie Fonseca en de familie Monteiros. Later werd Fonseca overgenomen door de familie Guimaraerns die ruim een eeuw aan de weg hebben getimmerd met Fonseca en daarmee de huidige reputatie hebben bepaald. Vanaf de tweede helft twintigste eeuw tot op heden draagt de familie Yeatman zorg voor het welzijn van deze prachtige portwijnen.Bekende Port in de Horeca
Het motto van Fonseca is vastberadenheid en kwaliteit. Zolang men vastberaden is blijft de kwaliteit vanzelf komen. Met deze constante kwaliteit die het porthuis al vele jaren te bieden heeft zijn de Fonseca Ports dan ook een graag geziene port in de horeca. Menig top restaurant heeft wel één of meerdere varianten van Fonseca op de kaart staan. De Fonseca Porto Tawny Port word gemaakt van 3 verschillende druiven die kenmerkend zijn voor de portwijnen. De Tinto Barocca, Tinta Roriz en de Touriga Nacional. De wijngaarden voor deze druiven zijn te vinden op de hoogste hellingen van de Douro vallei. Een geweldige plek waar een perfecte ondergrond is, voldoende warmte van de zon maar ook verkoeling van de wind die door de Douro vallei waait. Drie componenten die voor een perfecte kwaliteit van de druiven zorgen. Wanneer de juiste rijpheid is bereikt worden alle drie de variëteiten afzonderlijk van elkaar geoogst. Daarna worden de verschillende druiven gelijkmatig geperst. Deze gelijkmatige persing is erg van belang voor de kwaliteit van het sap. De Tawny word samengesteld met wijnen die een minimale rijping van 3 jaar hebben gehad op kleine eikenhouten vaten. Hierdoor krijgt de port meer kracht en souplesse van de Ruby Port.Waarom Fonseca Porto Tawny Port kopen?
Deze heerlijke Tawny Port van Fonseca is het lekkerst wanneer hij licht gekoeld word. Uiteraard blijft dit persoonlijk maar is wel een aangename serveer tip. De Tawny Port van Fonseca is een relatief volle Tawny, met een geprononceerd fruitig karakter. De kleur is exact zoals we van een Tawny port verwachten bruinig robijnrood met een heldere fonkeling. In de geur noteerden wij abrikozen en pruimen met een aangename ondertoon van butterscotch en wat kruiden. De smaak is zijdezacht en subtiel zoet. Great For Dog Park Fun -- The Ball Goes Flying

I love this thing. It's super well made and It enables me to chuck a ball the entire length of the dog park (I'm a 65 yr old woman with a wimpy arm). My dog is thrilled too. At first I thought it might be too heavy, but that's just not an issue, the weight is fine. For non-throwers like me someone at the dog park gave me a tip --- just look at the area you want to throw the ball. Helped my aim immensely.
The 2.5 inch chuck it ball it comes with is my dog's absolute *favorite* . . . it's her security blanket in the kennel while driving, and it's her favorite ball to chase (the only one she'll actually bring back). She loves to chew it and to squish the air out of it, which takes a little effort.

Great tool!

Ok - so I do not have a dog!!! I purchased this item for a completely different purpose! I saw someone using this to gather eggs!! I often go to my daughter and son-in-law's homestead to carry out the chores when they need to be out of town! Well, I am a bit on the short side (4'11") and some of the hens KNOW that a short person is going to be gathering eggs!!! I simply could not reach all of the eggs in a couple of the nesting boxes! So, after seeing someone else use this ball launcher as an egg retriever, I bought one! I am now able to reach ALL of the eggs - one at a time with no breakage! It was a game changer for me.
I am sure that it works equally well for dog play!!!

Essential kit for those with fetch dogs
Size: 18in, Style: Sport
Now in our 3rd year, my Brittany and I are down to about 40 fetch tosses a day, some 14,600 tosses a year. The Chuck It launcher wears well, so, figure at least 5 years of use, for 73,000 tosses. That makes for a terrific value!
There are several key benefits of the Chuck It launchers: One is that you can chuck the ball further than you can throw, which allows you to exercise your dog more easily. The second is that you can pick up and launch the ball without touching it, which means NO slime! And, the Chuck It also gives extra reach when you have to retrieve a ball from sticker brambles.
Those are great features for anyone with a fetch dog. If you also happen to have a weak arm or shoulder, the Chuck It launchers provide nice throwing options. I generally throw underhanded. I can't get the full potential range, that way, but, I still get good, long tosses. I curl my second finger above the last bump on the handle, and use a good wrist flick along with arm swing. I've seen others throw side-arm with the Chuck It.
I had originally written a second review for the longer 25M Chuck It. Either I, or Amazon messed up, and it looks like I can have only this one review. So, here are my additional thoughts on the 25M: I bought the 25M so that I could throw the ball even further! The good news is, you really can chuck further, with the longer chucker. The bad news is, those longer throws do require more arm and shoulder strength than when using the 18M. This becomes more obvious when you've done 3 or 4 dozen throws. I would recommend the 25M only for those with the youth and/or strength to get the most out of it. Otherwise, I'd say, go with the 18M.
