Zo blijft Asle het verhaal van ‘de andere’ Asle ontrafelen – een soort verwrongen spiegelbeeld van zichzelf. Op kerstavond varen Asle en de hond Bragi met buurman Åsleik naar diens zus, Guro. Ondertussen volgen we de levens van de twee Asles als jongere volwassenen in flashbacks: de verteller ontmoet zijn levenslange liefde, Ales; sluit zich aan bij de katholieke kerk; gaat exposeren bij Beyer. Na een tijdje verlaten Asle en Ales de stad en verhuizen naar het huis in Dylgja. De andere Asle trouwt ook, maar zijn huwelijk eindigt met een snikkende bruid en wordt kort daarna gevolgd door een pijnlijke breuk. Fosse voert in dit laatste deel het tempo flink op. Net als in een goed gecomponeerde symfonie bouwt het op naar een obsessieve finale. De laatste pagina’s zijn alsof herinneringen, verdriet, bekentenissen, dromen en angst zich vermengen in een suggestieve stroom.Shipping Notes

Dr. Jeremiah can't be beat
Format: Hardcover
Dr. Jeremiah is always solid on the Bible. Our small group chose to use this as a study tool. Some were pleased some were perplexed. It seemed that during the pandemic his publisher told Dr. Jeremiah he had to get a book out so he put this together. It seemed on the lame side. As we went along in it, it became clear that, in our opinion, he was directing this more at the non-Christian or brand new Christian. Mature Christians may find lacking at least at first, about half way through it picks up depth and relies more heavily on Biblical truth. He uses Christians and non-Christians in his "real life" examples and some times you're not sure if they are Christian, did they become Christian as a result of their experience? This is a great book for the right person.

Beautiful Retelling of the Christmas Story
Format: Hardcover
I've really appreciated reading from The First Nations Version over the last couple of years, and I'm excited for this book to make it easier to share with a younger audience! One of the things I appreciate about the FNV is how well it flows as a story, and this picture book is no different. It transitions smoothly from the Luke portion to Matthew. The illustrations are lovely watercolors and give me new imagination for Jesus coming for all people. I already bought copies for my nephews, and I'm looking forward to giving them to them for the Christmas season.
