Decubitus, doorligplekken of wonden ontstaan wanneer er voor langere tijd in eenzelfde houding wordt gelegen of gezeten. Hierdoor vermindert de doorstroming van het bloed in het lichaam. Op de plekken waar druk ontstaat door het zitten en het bot vlak onder de huid ligt kan een doorligplek ontstaan, bijvoorbeeld het stuitje. De huid krijgt op die specifieke plek te weinig zuurstof waardoor een wond ontstaat.

AD crème wordt geadviseerd als basis huidverzorging. Het kan de medicinale behandeling ondersteunen maar niet vervangen.
