De laatste jaren zien we steeds meer een trend in wijnen uit het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Dit heeft twee redenen. Alles het terroir , welke veel vergelijkingen heeft met de bodem in de Bourgogne en de Champagne. Hierdoor kunnen klassieke druiven goed gedijen en weten ze een mooi aroma op te bouwen. Gusbourne is een betrekkelijk grote speler. Het werd in 2004 opgericht en in 2006 hadden zij al de eerste prijzen te pakken. Het blijkt dat de Chardonnay, Pinot Noir en Pinot Meunier zich uitermate thuisvoelen op een van de wijngaarden die in totaal 90 hectare omvatten. Maar wacht, deze druiven komen ons bekend voor. Dankzij het karakter van de Britten kunnen we stellen dat het een strak proces is om tot een fles Gasbourne te komen. Geen halve bak werk maar puur vakmanschap om de wereld te laten verrassen met de Britse wijnen. Gusbourne Brut Reserve is een fijne bubbel van een torenhoge kwaliteit. De gouden schittering in de wijn brengt ons al in extase. In de geur herkennen we de klassiek champagne-blend direct, echter heeft Gusbourne meer fruit in zich. Je proeft rood fruit zoals kersen en aardbeien maar ook verfrissende aroma’s walsen door je mond heen. I have perpetual allergies which cause me to sneeze and sneeze. Buying tissues at supermarket is so expensive, so I took a chance and bought these, and they are great!
