This opens bottles faster than any opener I've ever owned and that includes rechargeable openers 3 times what I paid for this opener. It's worth every penny. We drink a fair amount of wine around here so this thing gets used a lot. I've never replaced the batteries. It's not even remotely slowing down. It just keeps popping out corks and it's been months. Considering what this opener cost I don't see how you can go wrong with this purchase.
