De Viburnum tinus staat bekend om zijn overvloedige witte bloemen die van de late herfst tot het vroege voorjaar verschijnen, vaak gevolgd door aantrekkelijke metaalblauwe bessen. Hij is gemakkelijk te verzorgen, gedijt goed op een plekje in de zon of halfschaduw en is niet veeleisend wat grondsoort betreft. Regelmatig water geven in droge periodes en een jaarlijkse snoeibeurt na de bloei volstaan om deze sneeuwbal gezond en compact te houden. Een praktische keuze voor elke tuinliefhebber!
