Ondertussen kleedt Alan’s moeder zich alsof er veel geld is en besteedt ze al haar tijd aan het vermijden van haar man en het aangaan van liefdesaffaires. En alsof een huishouden dat getroffen wordt door armoede en huwelijksproblemen niet genoeg is, is Alans bohemienzus, Madge, stiekem de duinen in geslopen voor een wellustige ontmoeting met een Duitse krijgsgevangene. Het enige wat Alan wil is rust – en dat een knap koormeisje genaamd Janet hem opmerkt. Maar hoe meer hij een normaal leven wenst, hoe chaotischer het wordt. Bainbridge roept op gevoelige wijze het groeiende besef van Alan op dat ‘hij alleen maar kon hopen een verlengstuk van zijn ouders te zijn’. Hij bereikt nooit het inzicht van zijn zus Madge dat wat iemand met zijn leven doet ‘nooit belangrijk is voor iemand anders’. Good quality dog ball for playing fetch

My dog and family love these chuck it balls to play fetch with our dog. They are durable and fun. They squeak which is added fun for any dog! Regular tennis balls my dog chews apart and they get pretty gross after playing and being left outside. These can be easily washed off and cleaned. These balls last! Would recommend to anyone with a dog and would purchase again.

Best flip-flops I've met
Size: 11, Color: Black/Geyser
Right away I was impressed by the thichness and cushioning of these flip-flops. They are not a flimsy piece of rubber under my foot. The sole is more like that of an athletic shoe with layers and an impressive tread.
I've always found that my heel sits too much on the back edge of flip-flops, or even over it. So I ordered these just a half size large and they're perfect. The foot cradling allows my heel to sit down inside the flip-flop comfortably and securely. They're not about to fall off. The toe piece (I don't know what it's actually called) is not just the typical round rubber post. On these flip-flops it's nicely shaped and fits comfortably between my toes.
The arch support is nice too. They're not just flat.
In spite of being more substantial than the cheapies we all know, these remain lightweight. They clearly look better too
