Petitgrain werkt krampstillend, zinnenprikkelend, reinigend, zuiverend, ontspannend, rustgevend en verfrissend. Het is ontgeurend bij overmatig transpireren. Petitgrain kan neerslachtigheid voorkomen of verminderen. Het is een ideale olie voor melancholieke mensen en een oppepper bij verdriet en teleurstellingen. Mentaal werkt deze olie verhelderend, stimulerend, herstellend bij vermoeidheid en stress.
Petitgrain kan o.a. worden gebruikt voor: vette, onreine huid, vet haar, overmatige transpiratie, jeugdpuistjes, slapeloosheid, angstgevoelens, neerslachtigheid en nervositeit.
