Presbyopie (het ouder worden van de ogen en het gezichtsvermogen), iedereen krijgt hier wel mee te maken vanaf een bepaalde leeftijd, meestal rond 40-45 jaar. Voor mensen met presbyopie wordt het zien op korte afstand eerst inspannend en uiteindelijk onmogelijk zonder hulp. Het dragen van een leesbril is dan noodzakelijk om weer duidelijk te kunnen zien.
