Fusilade® II Turf and Ornamental Herbicide is a selective, post-emergent solution designed to effectively manage a broad spectrum of annual and perennial grass weeds. Ideal for both professionals and homeowners, this herbicide offers rapid action, ensuring your lawns and landscapes remain pristine without harming valuable ornamental plants and shrubs. Its unique formulation allows for over-the-top or directed spray applications, providing flexibility and ease of use.

Key Features:

  • Selective Grass Control: Targets unwanted grassy weeds while preserving desirable broadleaf plants and ornamentals.

  • Rapid Action: Absorbed quickly, moving into the shoots, roots, rhizomes, stolons, and growing points of treated grass weeds, leading to visible results within days.

  • Application Flexibility: Suitable for over-the-top or directed spray applications in various settings, including lawns, landscapes, and ornamental beds.

  • Rainfast: Becomes rainfast within one hour of application, ensuring effectiveness even with unexpected weather conditions.

Application Rates:

For optimal results, adhere to the following application rates:

  • General Grass Weed Control: Mix 0.4 to 0.6 fluid ounces of Fusilade II per 1,000 square feet (equivalent to 16 to 24 fluid ounces per acre) with sufficient water. Always add a nonionic surfactant at 0.25% v/v (½ pint per 25 gallons of spray solution) to enhance efficacy.
  • Bermudagrass Suppression in Zoysiagrass and Tall Fescue: Apply 0.07 to 0.14 fluid ounces per 1,000 square feet (3 to 6 fluid ounces per acre) with a nonionic surfactant. Repeat applications every 28 days when grass weeds are actively growing. Note: Higher rates may cause temporary discoloration of desirable turf, with recovery in 10-14 days. Avoid application to stressed turf and during peak summer months (July and August).

Safe Lawn Types:

Fusilade II is safe for use on a variety of ornamental plants and specific turfgrasses when applied correctly. It can be used to suppress and control common bermudagrass and hybrid bermudagrass in zoysiagrass and tall fescue turf

Application Instructions:

  1. Preparation:

    • Ensure grass weeds are actively growing and not under stress from environmental factors such as drought or extreme temperatures.
    • Avoid mowing or disturbing the area 7 days before and after application to allow optimal herbicide absorption and movement within the plant.
  2. Mixing:

    • Fill the spray tank with half the required amount of water.
    • Add the appropriate amount of Fusilade II based on your target area.
    • Incorporate a high-quality nonionic surfactant to the mix.
    • Fill the tank with the remaining water, ensuring thorough agitation to maintain a uniform solution.
  3. Application:

    • Apply the solution uniformly over the target area using equipment that ensures thorough coverage without runoff.
    • For dense grass foliage, consider using higher spray volumes and pressures to achieve complete coverage.
  4. Post-Application:

    • Refrain from irrigating or allowing rainfall on the treated area for at least one hour post-application to ensure the herbicide is rainfast.
    • Monitor treated areas for symptom development, which typically includes loss of vigor, yellowing, and eventual death of the treated grass weeds within 7-14 days.

For a comprehensive list of application rates, tolerant species, and detailed instructions, please refer to the Fusilade II Turf and Ornamental Herbicide label.

By following these guidelines, both professionals and homeowners can achieve effective grass weed control, maintaining the health and aesthetics of their turf and ornamental areas.

The Babylonian Empire and the History of Mesopotamia
Format: Kindle
This is a very, very good book on the History of Mesopotamia. The people of Babylon came up with quadratic equations and trigonometry. They kept a log of the position of the planets, of meteor showers, sun rise and sun set, solar and lunar eclipse. The first ruler of Babylon, Hammurabi, came up with "Hammurabi's Law Code" which was written on a stelae and placed where all could read it. The Babylonian doctors wrote the first book on medicine. Back then doctors did not have hospitals to treat patients, patients were either treated at home or they would go to a clinic where doctors could treat them and several other patients overnight. The Babylonians created a city that became a pilgrimage destination with many temples. The architecture of the famed "hanging gardens" and several other "world wonders" were all located in Babylon, which aided in making the city a place worth travelling to. So many first happened in Babylon that the best way to find all of it out is by reading the book, which I highly recomend, you will not be disappointed.

The Babylonian Empire
Format: Kindle
This book analyses the achievements and challenges of the Babylonian Empire. It was a significant socio-political entity in Ancient Times. Like Assyria, the Babylonian state retained the written Akkadian language (the language of its native populace) for official use, despite its Northwest Semitic-speaking Amorite founders and Kassite successors, who spoke a language isolate, not being native Mesopotamians. It retained the Sumerian language for religious use (as did Assyria). Still, already by the time, Babylon was founded, this was no longer a spoken language, having been wholly subsumed by Akkadian. The earlier Akkadian and Sumerian traditions played a significant role in Babylonian and Assyrian culture. The region would remain an important cultural center, even under its protracted periods of outside rule. Ganesh of Mari founded the Kassite dynasty. Both Dynasties were significant. Moreover, The Kassites, like the Amorite rulers who had preceded them, were not originally native to Mesopotamia. They had first appeared in the Zagros Mountains of northwestern Iran today. Overall the book is well-written.

History as it should be written!
Format: Paperback
I found this book outstanding in every way. It is a fascinating, vivid picture of an incredible time in history. It’s interesting to read with rigorous research and draws the reader in as it travels through the three nations that ruled from Babylon. It gave me a fresh perspective of how the Old Testament history and prophets fit in with what was happening in Mesopotamia. I highly recommend this book to anyone, whether history buffs or someone completely new to the topic. This book is great for AP students or homeschoolers who will benefit from a solid foundation in the history of Babylon (and Sumer and Assyria) in a fun format they will enjoy reading.
