Uganda Sun Bird - Mixed MediaThis mixed media canvas has a size of 10"X10" X1. 5" and was inspired by a photograph of a Sunbird from Uganda by Chris Cepulis. The first acrylic layer depicts the flag of Uganda, and decoupaged elements including the shape of Uganda, travel stamps, and sheet music from scrapbook paper. To add texture, I incorporated greens and yellows into acrylic and used textured paste to create a sun, as well as corrugated cardboard paper. In the final layer,
This mixed media canvas has a size of 10"X10" X1.5" and was inspired by a photograph of a Sunbird from Uganda by Chris Cepulis. The first acrylic layer depicts the flag of Uganda, and decoupaged elements including the shape of Uganda, travel stamps, and sheet music from scrapbook paper. To add texture, I incorporated greens and yellows into acrylic and used textured paste to create a sun, as well as corrugated cardboard paper. In the final layer, spag-a-moss was utilized to create a nest, along with a wooden book featuring Winston Churchill's silhouette and the title "Pearl of Africa". To maintain the "sunbird" theme, I included the words "beautiful" and "birds of a feather". This piece is a true representation of the natural beauty, diverse birdlife, and vibrant colors of Uganda. It was created during my time at the gallery, where Chris Cepulis was a professional photographer.
