Bellevue Estate Basket Pressed Shiraz 2024 presents a deep, rich crimson with excellent depth and clarity — the hallmark of estate-grown McLaren Vale Shiraz from a ten-acre vineyard on the main street of McLaren Vale township, planted on red and brown loam over lime and ironstone, benefiting from cooling afternoon sea breezes from St Vincent Gulf.
Aroma
The nose is rich and inviting — velvety black fruits and dark chocolate lead, with the warmth and generosity of McLaren Vale fruit ripened by warm days and cooled by afternoon sea breezes from St Vincent Gulf. Eighteen months in French and American oak hogsheads adds a subtle complexity and depth that frames the fruit beautifully without overpowering it.
Palate
Rich and medium to full-bodied — velvety black fruits and dark chocolate of genuine McLaren Vale depth, with 18 months of French and American oak hogshead maturation adding structure and complexity. Made with minimal intervention — no added tannins or finings — the fruit speaks clearly and honestly. Hand plunged, cold soaked with 10% juice run-off for intensified colour and flavour, and hand basket-pressed. Built to cellar and reward patience.
