This incise analysis reveals how austerity policies, which have dominated economic agendas and left a trail of social injustice, are intrinsically gendered. Through a critical lens, Perrons exposes how budget cuts have disproportionately targeted services relied upon by women, illustrating the gender-specific dynamics of financial austerity. Description:
Austerity has dominated the policy agenda in the past decade. Although it appeared to end with the COVID-19 pandemic, a return to harsh cutbacks in the future cannot be ruled out.
In this incisive analysis, Diane Perrons shows that while austerity policies have devastating effects on people's lives, their gendered dynamics are particularly conspicuous: budget cuts have been overwhelmingly aimed at services used by women. She shows how the gender aspects of this economic and social catastrophe intersected with a range of other factors, making the experience of austerity very different for different groups - and highly unjust. Not only that, it undermined responses to COVID-19.
She finishes by critiquing the justifications for austerity policies and asks whether there are compelling alternatives that can re-invigorate economies and societies after the pandemic, and avoid a return to austerity. This compelling book will be essential reading for activists, policymakers and students of feminist political economy everywhere.?

Awesome.
Color: Silver Blue Brown
Loved it! I can hardly hear it run, its so quiet! It's very easy to read and looks quite classy. The leather strap has also held up very well to normal wear.

A Great Value for the Time
Color: Rose Gold Black
Beautiful watch that looks far more expensive than it is. The rose gold finish is very attractive, and the black faux leather band goes well with it. It tells time accurately. The only caveat is the date window which is so tiny that it's very difficult to read when not under direct light. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Great value!
Color: black/black
Great value for the money. My teenage son started a watch collection, and this was the perfect addition. It looks like it cost a lot more than it really did.
