3'8" X 5'1" Rare Shirvan Boteh Rug [SH-304]Antique small rug woven in the Shirvan region, Caucasus. A lovely and light sky blue ground features ivory octagonal lattice and chocolate brown wool stitching with cruciforms within the lattice are wiggly boteh fish. Also containing a cross motif. The main border of diamonds, separated by a double hooked hexagon and splayed tendrils or steel blue, is not common and noted as rare. The profusion of cruciform crosses may point to an Armenian weaving.
