FABRIC & CARE

Every pair of Boody period and leak absorbing underwear features our signature, innovative built-in technology — a moisture-wicking top layer, absorbent core layers, and a leak-resistant barrier.

Layer 1 - Contents: 100% cotton. Details: 100% cotton feels gentle and soft on the skin.

Layer 2 - Contents: 100% viscose made from organically grown bamboo. Details: Our light-moderate flow has single-layered towelling technology and our moderate-heavy flow has double-layered towelling technology.

Layer 3 - Contents: 86% modal, 7% seaweed fibre, 7% elastane. Details: Leak-proof barrier to help keep you dry and protected.

Layer 4 - Contents: 79% viscose made from organically grown bamboo, 15% nylon, 6% elastane. Details: outer layer crafted in our signature organically grown bamboo.

How do I wash period and leak proof underwear?

1. Rinse your period underwear in cold water as soon as you can after removal and rinse until the water starts to run clear.
2. Wash in a washbag (this is not essential, but will help your underwear last longer).
3. Wash on a cold cycle – max up to 30 degrees. If you’re hand-washing, the water should feel close to room temperature. Do not bleach. Do not soak
4. Line dry only – we recommend drying in the sun if you can, sunlight has natural anti-microbial properties that are good for your undies. Do not tumble dry. Do not Iron.

Tip: Hold the softener! Fabric softener is your period undies worst enemy. It leaves a “water-proof” film on textiles that can counteract the natural bamboo absorbing properties of your period undies

Do I need to wash them before wear?

Yes, we recommend putting them through the wash before the first time you wear them to help to activate the technology in the gusset.

How often should I replace period and leak proof underwear?

If you take good care of your period underwear, during and after you use them, by washing them in a cold wash and line drying them, they will last for up to 20 washes. We have conducted a third-party wash test to ensure this, with the testing verified following the global standard for domestic washing - ISO6330.

Can I wash with my other clothes?

Washing with the rest of your laundry is perfectly hygienic and won’t stain your other clothes. Washing machines will dilute the blood almost immediately, and other garments will not stain if you're washing on cold.

How do I know which absorbency level to purchase?

Our period and leak-proof underwear styles feature absorbencies, light-moderate and moderate-heavy (for now). Refer to our Fit and Flow page that uses an absorbency comparison tool.

Are these a replacement for my current routine?

Depending on your flow, Boody period and leak proof underwear can be a total replacement for disposable products, such as pads, tampons, liners, and cups. For most flows, our underwear can last all day, however others may choose to carry an extra pair of Boody as a backup, just in case! Everyones flow is different! If you're unsure which styles to start with, we recommend you reach out to us.

What size am I?

What does it feel like wearing them?

Just like regular underwear! Our period and leak absorbent gusset was designed to offer a sense of security and comfort all while looking like our signature soft and comfy bamboo underwear cuts.

How many pairs do I need to keep me covered for my whole period?

This really depends on how often you do your laundry and how often you need or like to change them! You generally need one or two pairs a day (and one pair per night if you want to sleep in them too), so we recommend counting that quota against how frequently you’ll put on a wash load. Some customers prefer to change them more frequently, or may need to due to their flow, so take this into consideration as you settle into your routine. If you do laundry once every three days and you only need one pair per day then you’ll only need three pairs!

Does period and leak proof underwear smell?

Bamboo fabric is naturally odour-resistant due to its ability to fight off bad bacteria. Our gusset technology in period and leak proof underwear locks in moisture, helps get rid of odour and stops leaks.
