Rare Hard to find (Romanian- potentially) AKM Bayonet complete with scabbard. Very good condition.
Released in 1965, the upgraded AKM Type II bayonet features two significant enhancements. The former's round plastic pommel has been replaced with a square-shaped steel one to prevent vulnerability, although soldiers continued to use it as a hammer. The scabbard has also been redesigned, utilizing newer plastic technology to create a non-conductive plastic body with a metal tip for wire cutting, eliminating the previous need for a rubber insulator.
The AKM Type I bayonet was produced by East Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Russia.
