Victron Sun Inverter 12/250-15: Integrated 12V Inverter and Solar Charge Controller for Off-Grid Power

Compact 250VA Pure Sine Wave Inverter with Built-In 15A PWM Solar Charger

The Victron Sun Inverter 12/250-15 combines a 250VA pure sine wave inverter and a 15A PWM solar charge controller in a single, space-saving unit. Designed for 12V off-grid systems, it delivers reliable 230V AC power from your battery bank while simultaneously managing solar charging. This integrated approach simplifies installation and reduces wiring complexity, making it an excellent choice for caravans, motorhomes, boats, and remote cabins where space and efficiency are critical.

Unlike separate inverter and charger setups, the Sun Inverter streamlines your power system. The full bridge toroidal transformer design provides robust, clean power suitable for sensitive electronics, while the integrated PWM controller efficiently harvests solar energy to keep your batteries topped up. With Bluetooth monitoring via the VictronConnect app and a VE.Direct communication port, you have full control and visibility over your energy system, whether you're on the road or at a remote site.

Reliable Power Conversion with High Surge Capability

The inverter section delivers 250VA continuous output (200W at 25°C) with a 400W peak power rating, enabling it to start demanding loads such as LED lighting power converters, small power tools, and halogen lamps. Its toroidal transformer topology has been proven over decades of field use, offering inherent short-circuit protection and thermal resilience. The unit automatically derates output at elevated temperatures, ensuring safe operation even in challenging environments.

For energy-conscious users, the ECO mode reduces idle consumption to just 0.8W by cycling the inverter on and off to detect loads above a preset threshold (default 15W). This feature is particularly valuable in solar-powered installations where every watt-hour counts, extending battery runtime during periods of low solar input.

Integrated 15A PWM Solar Charger for Efficient Battery Management

The built-in 15A PWM charge controller supports up to 375W of solar input (36-cell panels) and is fully programmable via the VictronConnect app. You can adjust charge voltages, battery algorithms, and temperature compensation (with optional sensor) to suit lead-acid, AGM, or lithium batteries. The controller initiates charging as soon as PV voltage exceeds battery voltage, maximising energy harvest throughout the day.

This integration eliminates the need for a separate solar regulator, reducing component count and potential points of failure. The screw terminals for both battery and PV connections accept up to 10mm² (approx. 8 AWG) and 4mm² (approx. 12 AWG) cable respectively, simplifying installation without specialised tools.

Advanced Monitoring and Control

Stay informed with Bluetooth connectivity built into the unit. Using the free VictronConnect app on your smartphone or tablet, you can monitor real-time data including inverter input/output voltage, load percentage, solar power, and battery status. Configure settings such as low battery cut-off levels, output voltage (210-245V), frequency (50/60Hz), and ECO mode sensitivity to match your specific requirements.

The VE.Direct port enables integration with Victron's GX monitoring devices (e.g., Cerbo GX) or the GlobalLink 520 for remote monitoring via the VRM portal. A remote on/off terminal allows connection of an external switch or the optional Phoenix Inverter Control panel for convenient operation.

Key Features

  • 250VA pure sine wave output for clean, reliable AC power

Too Wide and Not Long Enough for Tall, Skinny Builds
I bought this for my 16-year-old son (he’s about 6’2” and very tall and slender with a normal pant size of 30" 34") to have something simple in his closet for school dances and occasional events. Gray felt versatile — something he could dress up or down without overthinking it. Sizing was the biggest issue for us. I ordered a men’s large because that’s typically what I buy him for sweat pants, work out pants and for the added length in shirts, but this suit was way too big through the waist and chest. For something labeled “slim fit,” it did not fit like a slim suit at all. The inseam measured at 31 inches, which is shorter than other suits we’ve purchased for him, and the size chart (which wasn’t available when I ordered) doesn’t even list inseam measurements at all — which really matters for tall, lean boys like mine. As far as construction, this feels more like an occasional-wear suit for a teenager than something a grown man would wear regularly. The jacket is lined, which is nice, and it includes extra buttons. But there were loose threads inside around the buttons and pockets, and some stitching — especially under the arm pit area it already looked like it could come apart with wear. The inside pocket material feels thin and not especially durable. The arm length itself was a great fit for my tall son, and even offered a little room for growth. The pants were similar. When I turned them inside out, I noticed loose threads where the seams meet, particularly at the crotch. The pocket lining material feels rough, and there is only 1 extra inch of fabric at the hem if you need additional length, where I am used to seeing 2 inches of material for adjustments. I noticed that my son wore his belt on his hips when he tried it on so he pant legs would look more of a normal length. Overall, this might work fine as a backup suit for someone who needs it once in a while and isn’t overly concerned with tailoring or long-term durability. But based on fit and construction, it’s not something I would purchase for my husband or for frequent wear.

I dislike the royal blue - I abhor the cheap, tacky buttons
I requested this product without being able to see the product photo or any information about it (beyond the title) because I requested a similarly-priced 3-piece suit on Amazon previously and that was a fine suit; it wasn't amazing, but it was decent. This is far worse and I don't think many people would feel good about spending the $75 on this. I would never wear this suit jacket in public because it would embarrass me due to the color and the buttons. I suppose the color is a subjective choice, and I like many shades of blue and have two blue suits. A dark blue would've been OK with me (preferable), or even a lighter blue could be OK I suppose - but this "royal blue" shade is nauseating to me, its as if its trying to be overly-vibrant. The buttons aren't just a problem because they're cheap plastic - their placement is reminiscent of a style of suit jackets I've only ever seen in history books or old period movies set in eras well over a century ago - nobody wears jackets like this anymore unless they're dressed in formal uniforms like police. The title says it could be for a prom? No, I would not ever wear it to a prom or suggest it as a suit anyone would wear to a prom. The pants are decent! This is why I'm giving it two stars. Initially I couldn't imagine wearing this suit in any way whatsoever but the pants fit well and have a very professional-looking crease right where it should be. The color is bad, but I'll keep it in the back of the closet for days when I have no other slacks appropriate for work that are clean. I greatly appreciate the elastic in the waistband - it has that new stretchy type which allowed me to fit into it without trouble even though someone of my weight otherwise wouldn't.

It's nice enough, but nothing spectacular
This was definitely a gamble since there was no picture provided.... But, my husband needed a newer suit, so we took a chance. Well, it's green! Which is the last thing we expected lol. But, it's not terrible. My husband actually thinks he can do something with it. I'm disappointed because it's only a jacket, pants and tie- not a three piece with a vest like i thought I was getting. Also the fabric just isn't a great material. For $80, it's not great. I've gotten better for $20 from temu. However, it does fit very him very nicely. He's about 5 foot nine or ten, 185lb. If you're in a bind and need a suit in a hurry, this will certainly do just fine. Just know it's not luxury. Pictures are taken right out of the bag, not ironed or anything.

Affordable, vintage style 3 piece suit.
When I ordered this, there wasn't any pictures of the suit. I got this in the vibrant blue color, in size Large. The styling on this is similar to suits from 100 or so years ago. This is a 3 piece suit at an affordable price point. The buttons are big, they're nice looking, but they feel cheap. I like the tie this comes with and the pants are pretty nice. The pants are comfortable with an elastic waist. The sizing seems to be about right, though they could use a sizing chart. The outter material is a fairly coarse polyester. The inside has a layer of smooth material, I believe it's made of viscose.

Supringingly great suit even before tailoring
Color: Beige, Size: Medium
This slimfit, doublebreasted suit offers a sharp, modern silhouette that punches well above its price point. The tailoring provides a high end look, though you should consider sizing up if you prefer a less restrictive feel through the torso. Regarding quality and color, the fabric is durable with a rich, consistent hue that holds its depth under different lighting. For appearance, the double breasted cut adds instant sophistication, perfectly accented by the bold red striped tie and included lapel pin. In terms of value, it is an excellent investment for those seeking a complete ensemble that looks custom made.
